Andrew Buckle
Andrew Nicholas Buckle (born 24 September 1982) is an Australian professional golfer. Buckle was born in Brisbane, Queensland. He had a promising amateur career, including two wins in the Boy's 15–17 division at the World Junior Golf Championships and the Australian Amateur. Buckle won the 2002 Queensland Open on his professional debut. As a professional, he has plied his trade all over the world, including time on the PGA Tour of Australasia and appearances in Europe and Japan. He joined the Asian Tour in 2005 and in 2006 he finished second in the Indonesia Open and the TCL Classic, which are both Asian Tour/European Tour co-sanctioned events. Also in 2006, he won his second professional event at Virginia Beach Open on the U.S.-based Nationwide Tour. Queensland Open (golf)
The Queensland Open is a golf tournament held in Queensland, Australia as part of the PGA Tour of Australasia. It was founded in 1925. The event was not held from 2008 to 2012 but returned as a PGA Tour of Australasia event in 2013. Trophy The winner receives the T. B. Hunter Cup. The trophy was donated by Thomas Brown Hunter in 1939, the winner to retain it for a year and receive a replica. The trophy was inscribed with the name of the previous winners. Hunter was secretary of Brisbane Golf Club from 1910 to 1938 and also secretary of the Queensland Golf Association. He won the Queensland Amateur Championship in 1913. Australian Men's Interstate Teams Matches
The Australian Men's Interstate Teams Matches were an amateur team golf competition for men between the states and territories of Australia. The event started in 1904 when New South Wales played Victoria. Until World War II the event was played as part of the championship meeting which included the Australian Amateur. It was not until 1947 that all six states, New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria, and Western Australia, contested the event together. Northern Territory first played in 2015 increasing the number of teams to seven. The final format was a round-robin tournament, each team playing the other six teams, after which the top two teams play a final. Each team consisted of eight players. Seven competed in each round-robin match with all eight playing in the final. Only singles matches were played. 2002 Eisenhower Trophy
The 2002 Eisenhower Trophy took place 24–27 October on the Palm and Bunga Raya courses at Saujana Golf and Country Club in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It was the 23rd World Amateur Team Championship for the Eisenhower Trophy. The tournament was a 72-hole stroke play team event with 63 three-man teams. The best two scores for each round counted towards the team total. Each team was due to play two rounds on the two courses. The leading teams played on the Bunga Raya course on the third day and were due to play on the Palm course on the final day. After heavy rain and lightning on the final morning, a cut was introduced and only the leading 20 teams played the final round. Positions 21 to 63 were determined by scores after three rounds. Eisenhower Trophy
The Eisenhower Trophy (World Men's Amateur Team Championships) is the biennial World Amateur Team Championship for men organized by the International Golf Federation. Since the tournament was first played in 1958, it is named after Dwight D. Eisenhower, the President of the United States at the time, who was a keen amateur golfer. The equivalent competition for women is the Espirito Santo Trophy. Results The 1958 championship resulted in a tie. There was an 18-hole playoff which Australia won with a score of 222 to the United States 224. From 1958 to 2000 the teams had four players with the best three scores counting for each round. Nomura Cup
The Nomura Cup, also known as the Asia-Pacific Amateur Golf Team Championship, is a biennial amateur team golf championship for men organised by the Asia-Pacific Golf Confederation. The inaugural event was held in 1963 and it has been played in odd-numbered years since. Format Teams used to consist of four players but from 2022 the playing members have been reduced to three. The tournament is held over 4 days with 18 holes of stroke play on each day, the best two rounds counting for the team score. History In the early tournaments, only the Philippines, Japan and Chinese Taipei competed. By the eighth championship in 1977, held in Malaysia, a then record of 10 nations were competing. The Masters Tournament (usually referred to as simply The Masters, or the U.S. Masters outside North America) is one of the four major championships in professional golf. The Open Championship, often referred to as The Open or the British Open, is the oldest golf tournament in the world, and one of the most prestigious. Justin Bolli
Justin Bolli (born March 18, 1976) is an American professional golfer. who has played on the PGA Tour and the Web.com Tour. Bolli was born in Portland, Oregon. Bolli started playing on the Nationwide Tour (now Web.com Tour) full-time in 2004 and moved up to the PGA Tour in 2005. In his rookie season on the PGA Tour, he only made 9 of 24 cuts with his best finish being tied for 17th at the Southern Farm Bureau Classic. He moved back to the Nationwide Tour in 2006. He finished in 8th place on the Nationwide Tour's money list in 2007 to earn his PGA Tour card for 2008.
