Andrew Brown is a British-born journalist who spent most of his career in Hong Kong. He is best known for producing technology-related features for CNN, which he joined in 2000. He reported on humorous stories, like on machines which allegedly track women's hormonal cycles, translate animal sounds or control dreams. He has also reported on more serious topics like computer passwords and Sars. Andrew Brown (born December 30, 1995) is an American football defensive end for the Chicago Bears of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Virginia. Brown was a two-time High School All-American at Oscar F. Smith High School in Chesapeake, Virginia. He has played for the Cincinnati Bengals, Houston Texans and Arizona Cardinals. High school career A native of Chesapeake, Virginia, Brown initially attended Indian River High School for his freshman and sophomore year. He transferred to Oscar Smith his junior year. Andrew "Andie" Brown (born 18 September 1955, in Haslingden) is an Anglican priest. He was the Archdeacon of Man in the Church of England from October 2011 to July 2021. Brown was educated at Haslingden Grammar School and St Peter's College, Oxford. Andrew Betts Brown MICE MINA (1841–1906) was a Scottish engineer and inventor. He invented the hydraulic crane and overhead travelling crane. He founded several companies including the Vauxhall Iron Works, which later evolved into Vauxhall Motors, and the huge British engineering firm Brown Brothers. Life He was born on 4 May 1841 in Edinburgh the eldest son of Robert Brown, a bricklayer living at 86 Canongate, and his wife, Marion Betts. He was educated at the High School in Edinburgh. From around 1855 he was apprenticed as an engineer with the North British Railway based at St Margaret’s Yard in Edinburgh. He took evening classes at the Watt College (later Heriot Watt) winning prizes in Natural Philosophy (Physics) and Dynamics. Andrew Brown (industrialist)
Andrew Brown, a Scottish–born Australian industrialist and philanthropist, was instrumental in founding the township of Lithgow as well as a number of Presbyterian educational institutions. Early life Brown was born in Methven, Perth and Kinross, Scotland. In the period between 1824 and 1826 Brown acquired land at Bowenfels, New South Wales, effectively creating the first European settlement in the Lithgow Valley. He then acquired of land in the valley, around Cooerwull Brook (now known in Lithgow as Farmer's Creek). The property originally used for grazing, became known as Cooerwull after the small blue flowers which grow in the area. A suburb in Lithgow still retains the name.
