Andrew Booker (musician)
Andrew Booker is a British drummer and vocalist best known for his work with Tim Bowness (in Bowness's solo band, No-Man and in Henry Fool) and with ex-Yes guitarist Peter Banks (in the improvising band Harmony in Diversity). Booker has also released a solo mini-album ''Ahead'' and had a duo called Pulse Engine with Nick Cottam (bass). He also played with London-band The Fugitives, Michael Bearpark and David Cross. Booker organised the website and evening Improvizone, which led to one compilation available through the Burning Shed label. Tim Bowness
Tim Bowness (born 29 November 1963) is an English singer and songwriter primarily known for his work as part of the band No-Man, a long-term project formed in 1987 with Porcupine Tree's Steven Wilson. Music career In addition to recording albums with No-Man (for record labels such as One Little Indian, Sony/Epic, and Kscope), Bowness has appeared on albums by US artists OSI and David Torn, Italian artists Alice, Saro Cosentino, Fjieri, Nosound and Stefano Panunzi, Norwegian groups White Willow and The Opium Cartel, and others. No-Man
No-Man are an English art pop duo, formed in 1987 as No Man Is an Island (Except the Isle of Man) by singer Tim Bowness and multi-instrumentalist Steven Wilson. The band has so far produced seven studio albums and a number of singles/outtakes collections (most notably, 2006's career retrospective, ''All the Blue Changes''). The band was once lauded as "conceivably the most important English group since The Smiths" by ''Melody Maker'' music newspaper, and a 2017 article of '' Drowned in Sound'' described them as "probably the most underrated band of the last 25 years". Henry Fool (band)
Henry Fool are an English experimental rock band that use elements of psychedelia, progressive rock, jazz and post-rock in their music. The consistent core members of the band are Tim Bowness (vocals, guitars) and Stephen Bennett (keyboards, guitar). The rest of the lineup has been a shifting membership including Michael Bearpark (guitar), Peter Chilvers (bass guitar, keyboards, guitar), Myke Clifford (saxophones, flute), I Monster's Jarrod Gosling and drummers Fudge Smith (Pendragon/Steve Hackett Band), Huxflux Nettermalm ( Paatos), Andrew Booker, Richard Osbourne and Diego Mancini. Yes are an English progressive rock band formed in London in 1968 by lead singer and frontman Jon Anderson, bassist Chris Squire, guitarist Peter Banks, keyboardist Tony Kaye and drummer Bill Bruford. Peter Banks
Peter William Brockbanks (15 July 1947 – 7 March 2013), known professionally as Peter Banks, was a British guitarist, vocalist, songwriter and producer. He was the original guitarist in the rock band Yes, and also the Syn, Flash, and Empire. Former ''Sniffin' Glue'' and ''NME'' journalist Danny Baker described Banks as "the architect of progressive music". Biography Early life Banks' father was an optical mechanic and his mother a cleaner. He grew up in Barnet, North London, where he attended Barnet Secondary School and Barnet College of Further Education. When he was a young boy, his father bought him an acoustic guitar. As a teenager, he also learned how to play the banjo. Michael Bearpark is an English scientist and musician. Work as scientist Bearpark is a Principal Research Fellow in the Chemistry Department at Imperial College London. He works in computational chemistry, including method and software development with applications to modeling the excited electronic states of large molecules and their photochemical reaction dynamics, as well as research into the coherent control of chemical reactions. David Cross (musician)
David Cross (born 23 April 1949 in Turnchapel near Plymouth, England) is an English electric violinist and keyboardist best known for playing with progressive rock band King Crimson from 1972 to 1974. He appears on their studio albums ''Larks' Tongues in Aspic,'' '' Starless and Bible Black'', and a single track on ''Red''. Cross also appears on numerous other live recordings from 1973 & 1974 that have been released by Robert Fripp's Discipline Global Mobile label in the decades since, including ''USA'' (1975) and ''The Night Watch'' (1997).'' After his time with King Crimson, Cross travelled extensively, eventually returning to music through work in the theatre. In 1987 he formed an ensemble called Low Flying Aircraft with Keith Tippett on piano. In 1988, he was invited by keyboardist Geoff Serle to join Radius, with whom he has recorded five studio albums. Burning Shed is an independent record label established in April 2001 by musicians Tim Bowness and Pete Morgan. The label was envisaged as an artistically focused, online extension of labels such as 4AD, Factory, ECM, DGM and Mute. Burning Shed hosts the official online shops for Porcupine Tree, Lo-Fi Resistance, No-Man, OSI, Medium ( Jansen, Barbieri and Karn), 21st Century Schizoid Band, Rothko, Roger Eno, Hugh Hopper, Stewart/Gaskin and Hatfield and the North. Darkroom (band)
Darkroom is a British electronic music project created by Andrew "Os" Ostler (synthesizers, loops, processing and bass clarinet) and Michael Bearpark (guitars, bass guitar and loops). Other contributors to the project have been Tim Bowness (voice and voiceloops) and Peter Chilvers (space bass). The project performs live in the UK and has released several albums, mainly available via the independent record label Burning Shed. David Cross (born April 4, 1964) is an American stand-up comedian, actor, director, and writer known for his stand-up performances, the HBO sketch comedy series ''Mr. Show'' (1995–1998), and his role as Tobias Fünke in the Fox/Netflix sitcom ''Arrested Development'' (2003–2006, 2013–2019).
