Andreja Mali
Andreja Mali (born November 17, 1977, in Kamnik, SFR Yugoslavia) is a former Slovenian biathlete and former cross-country skier. Career Mali competes for the club TSK Jub Dob Pri Ljubljani and has been part of the Slovenian national biathlon team since 2000. The instructor in the army of Kamnik made her Biathlon World Cup debut in 2001. She was selected for the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, where she placed 27th in sprint and 32nd in the pursuit race. She reached the top 10 in the 2002–03 season, placing 8th in sprints in Pokljuka and in Oslo at Holmenkollen. Her best result was a 4th place in the mass start race in Antholz, which remains her best international placing. Mali's top result in the Biathlon World Championships was 14th place in the sprint at the Biathlon World Championships 2004 in Oberhof, where she placed 14th in singles and 18th in the mass start was. Biathlon World Championships 2012
The 45th Biathlon World Championships were held in Ruhpolding, Germany, from 1 to 11 March 2012. There were total of 11 competitions held: sprint, pursuit, individual, mass start and relay races for men and women, and a mixed relay. Oberhof, Germany
Oberhof is a town in the Schmalkalden-Meiningen district of Thuringia, Germany. Located in the Thuringian Forest mountain range, it is a winter sports center and health resort. With 1,625 inhabitants (December 2016), it is visited by 144,000 tourists every year (2016). The town obtained its official city status in 1985. History Oberhof was first mentioned in a document in 1470. The village in the Black Forest department belonged to various Ernestine duchies, most recently to the Duchy of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha from 1826 to 1918. Ramsau Am Dachstein
Ramsau am Dachstein is a municipality in the district of Liezen, state of Styria, Austria. It is also the name of the elevated plateau between the Dachstein range and the Enns valley on which this municipality is located. The appendage ''am Dachstein'' is added to distinguish the municipality from others of the same name existing in Austria. It is usually omitted in common speech. Geography Ramsau am Dachstain is situated between the Dachstein range of mountains in the north and the Enns valley in the south. FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 1999
The FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 1999 took place February 19–28, 1999 in Ramsau am Dachstein, Austria. The large hill ski jumping events took place at the Paul-Ausserleitner-Schanze in Bischofshofen. The 7.5 km Nordic combined sprint event debuted at these championships. The FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 1997 took place from February 21 to March 2 at Granåsen Ski Centre in Trondheim, Norway. This event was the first time in consecutive championships that the number or type of events did not change since FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 1966, 1966 and FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 1970, 1970. It also was historical with Russia's Yelena Välbe winning gold in all five women's cross country events, the first person of either sex to do that honor. FIS Nordic World Ski Championships
The FIS Nordic World Ski Championships is a biennial nordic skiing event organized by the International Ski Federation (FIS). The World Championships was started in 1925 for men and opened for women's participation in 1954. World Championship events include nordic skiing's three disciplines: cross-country skiing, ski jumping, and nordic combined (the latter being a combination sport consisting of both cross-country and ski jumping). From 1924 to 1939, the World Championships were held every year, including the Winter Olympics. After World War II, the World Championships were held every four years from 1950 to 1982. FIS Cross-Country World Cup
The FIS Cross-Country World Cup is an annual cross-country skiing competition, arranged by the International Ski Federation (FIS) since 1981. The competition was arranged unofficially between 1973 and 1981, although it received provisional recognition on the 31st FIS Congress, 29–30 April 1977 in Bariloche, Argentina. The first World Cup races were held on 9 January 1982 and were located in Reit im Winkl, West Germany and Klingenthal, East Germany. Bill Koch of the United States and Berit Aunli of Norway were the overall winners in the first season. Rules Competitors attempt to achieve the most points during the season.
