Hjo Municipality
Hjo Municipality (''Hjo kommun'') is a municipalities of Sweden, municipality in Västra Götaland County in western Sweden. Its seat is located in the stad (Sweden), city of Hjo. The municipality was created in 1971, when the ''City of Hjo'' was amalgamated with a part of the rural municipality Värsås. In 1974 parts of Fröjered and Fågelås were added. Geography Geographically it is situated by the western shore of Vättern, Lake Vättern. The large and fish-rich waters have been the main influence on the industry. The largest stream, rivulet intersecting the municipality from Vättern is the Hjo River. Parts of it have been made a nature reserve. Partly this is due to the salmon (''brown trout, Salmo trutta'') and the Thymallus thymallus, grayling (''Thymallus thymallus'') that occur natural in the rivulet, but have had hard times due to dams. The European Handball Federation (EHF) is the umbrella organisation for European handball. Founded on 17 November 1991, it is made of 50 member federations and two associated federations (England and Scotland), and is headquartered in Vienna, Austria. History EHF was founded on 17 November 1991 in Berlin, Germany, although the first EHF Congress convened on 5 June 1992 and assigned EHF's headquarters to Vienna, Austria from 1 September that year. In 2012 the EHF Office celebrated 20 years since it first opened its doors. In the subsequent years, the number of member countries has expanded from the initial 29 to its current number of 50, after Kosovo was granted full membership at the EHF Congress in Dublin, Ireland in September 2014. The 2016 EHF European Men's Handball Championship was the twelfth edition and was held for the first time in Poland from 15–31 January 2016. Croatia and Norway were the other applicants in the bidding process. Poland was awarded the championship on the EHF Congress in Monaco on 23 June 2012 with 58% votes. Germany won their second title by beating Spain 24–17 in the final. Croatia captured the bronze medal after defeating Norway 31–24.
