Andrea Conti (; born 2 March 1994) is an Italian professional footballer who plays as a right-back for Serie A club Sampdoria and the Italy national team. Club career Atalanta Conti was born and raised in Lecco, Lombardy. In 2002, he had a successful trial at AC Milan yet refused to join the team due to his dislike of the club's youth training center in Linate area of the city, as well as its far-from-home location. He also had an offer from the club's cross-city rivals, Inter Milan, yet eventually joined Atalanta's youth academy where he would play together with Mattia Caldara and Roberto Gagliardini for over a decade. Atalanta (; grc-gre, Ἀταλάντη, Atalantē) meaning "equal in weight", is a heroine in Greek mythology. There are two versions of the huntress Atalanta: one from Arcadia, whose parents were Iasus and Clymene and who is primarily known from the tales of the Calydonian boar hunt and the Argonauts; and the other from Boeotia, who is the daughter of King Schoeneus and is primarily noted for her skill in the footrace. The anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is one of a pair of cruciate ligaments (the other being the posterior cruciate ligament) in the human knee. The two ligaments are also called "cruciform" ligaments, as they are arranged in a crossed formation. In the quadruped stifle joint (analogous to the knee), based on its anatomical position, it is also referred to as the cranial cruciate ligament. The term cruciate translates to cross. Ignazio Abate (; born 12 November 1986) is an Italian former professional footballer who played as a full-back and manager of AC Milan's under-19 side. Matteo Pessina (born 21 April 1997) is an Italian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder. He is captain of club Monza, on loan from Atalanta. He also plays for the Italy national team. Coming through the youth system, Pessina started his career at Monza. He joined AC Milan in 2015, who sent him on loan to Lecce, Catania and Como. The 2014–15 Serie B was the 83rd season since its establishment in 1929. A total of 22 teams contested the league: 14 of which returning from the 2013–14 season, 5 of which promoted from Prima Divisione, and three relegated from Serie A. The original concept was that due to Siena's exclusion because of financial issues and the fact such vacancy will not be filled in preparation of a future reduction to a league composed by 20 teams, this season featured 21 participant clubs instead of the usual 22.
