Andre Johnson (offensive Lineman)
Andre T. Johnson (born August 25, 1973) is a former American football offensive tackle in the National Football League for the Washington Redskins (1996), the Miami Dolphins (1997), and the Detroit Lions (1997–1998). He played college football at Penn State University and was selected in the first round of the 1996 NFL Draft by the Washington Redskins, who were looking for a replacement of their aging tackle Jim Lachey. 1996 NFL Draft
The 1996 NFL draft was the procedure by which National Football League teams selected amateur college football players. It is officially known as the NFL Annual Player Selection Meeting. The draft was held April 20–21, 1996, at the Paramount Theatre at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York. No teams chose to claim any players in the supplemental draft that year. On draft day, the St. Louis Rams traded running back Jerome Bettis and a third-round draft pick to the Pittsburgh Steelers in exchange for a second round pick for that year, as well as a fourth round pick the following year. The trade was made immediately after the Rams drafted Nebraska running back Lawrence Phillips. Bettis went on to have a successful career with the Steelers as well as being one of the team's most popular players, while the Rams wouldn't have another feature back until they traded for Marshall Faulk three years later due to Phillips' off-field problems. Jim Lachey
James Michael Lachey (born June 4, 1963) is a radio analyst for Ohio State football and a former American football offensive tackle who played for ten seasons in the National Football League with the San Diego Chargers, Los Angeles Raiders, and Washington Redskins. Lachey graduated from St. Henry High School and then played college football at Ohio State University, where he was an All-American offensive guard. He was a three-time Pro Bowl player in 1987 with the Chargers, and 1990 and 1991 with the Redskins as a member of " The Hogs." He helped the Redskins win Super Bowl XXVI. He was also a three-time All-Pro selection. Personal life Lachey later became a broadcaster and wrote a book called ''Jim Lachey: The Ultimate Protector''.
