Anders Walter
Anders Walter (born February 5, 1978) is a Danish filmmaker. At the 86th Academy Awards held in March 2014, Walter and fellow producer Kim Magnusson won an Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film for the 2013 film ''Helium (film), Helium''. In 2012, his short film ''9-meter'' was shortlisted for the Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film. He is the twin-brother of Danish singer Rasmus Walter. 86th Academy Awards
The 86th Academy Awards ceremony, presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), honored the best films of 2013 and took place on March 2, 2014, at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles beginning at 5:30 p.m. PST / 8:30 p.m. EST. Kim Magnusson
Kim Magnusson is a Danish film producer and actor who has received seven Academy Awards nominations and two awards, all for short films. Magnusson graduated from the AFI Conservatory in 1991 and is credited as a producer in more than 150 films. He was chairman of the Danish Film Academy for 20 years, as well as the Danish Producers Association for 9 years. Magnusson's short film ''Election Night'' won an Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film in 1999. His other nominated short films include ''Helmer & Son'', ''Wolfgang'', '' Ernst & lyset'', ''Silent Nights'' and '' On My Mind''. The Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film is an award presented at the annual Academy Awards ceremony. The award has existed, under various names, since 1957. From 1936 until 1956 there were two separate awards, "Best Short Subject, One-reel" and "Best Short Subject, Two-reel", referring to the running time of the short: a standard Reel#Motion picture terminology, reel of film is 1000 feet, or about 11 minutes of run time. A third category "Best Short Subject, color" was used only for 1936 and 1937. From the initiation of short subject awards for 1932 until 1935 the terms were "Best Short Subject, comedy" and "Best Short Subject, novelty". These categories were merged starting with the 1957 awards, under the name "Short Subjects, Live Action Subjects", which was used until 1970. ''Helium'' is a 2013 Danish short drama film directed by Anders Walter. Plot Alfred is a young boy staying in a hospital who suffers from an undisclosed terminal illness. Enzo, a janitor at the hospital, meets Alfred while working and the two develop a friendship. Enzo tells Alfred of Helium, an attractive alternative to Heaven, because Alfred imagines Heaven is very boring. Enzo tells Alfred that to get to Helium, he will fly in an airship that will know to pick him up because of his red balloon dog, which Enzo has made for him. Alfred's illness worsens, and he is moved to a unit to which Enzo doesn’t have access. Enzo sneaks onto the unit, but is caught by the head nurse and barred from seeing Alfred.
