Anastasiya Mokhnyuk
Anastasiya Mokhnyuk ( uk, Анастасія Мохнюк, born 1 January 1991) is a Ukrainian athlete who specialises in the heptathlon. She competed in the 2015 World Championships in Athletics – Women's heptathlon, heptathlon event at the 2015 World Championships in Athletics in Beijing, China. She won the silver medal 2016 IAAF World Indoor Championships – Women's pentathlon, in the pentathlon at the 2016 IAAF World Indoor Championships. On 14 April 2016 she tested positive for meldonium. Nova Kakhovka ( uk, Нова́ Кахо́вка, ; russian: Новая Каховка) is a city in the central Kakhovka Raion region of Kherson Oblast in southern Ukraine currently under Russian occupation. Nova Kakhovka is an important port city on the east bank of the Dnieper river where it meets the downstream end of the Kakhovka Reservoir. It forms one abutment of the Kakhovsky Bridge over the hydroelectric dam; the other is located in Beryslav. Meldonium
Meldonium (INN; trade name Mildronate, among others) is a limited-market pharmaceutical, developed in 1970 by Ivars Kalviņš at the USSR Latvia Institute of Organic Synthesis, and now manufactured by the Latvian pharmaceutical company Grindeks and several generic manufacturers. It is primarily distributed in Eastern European countries as an anti- ischemia medication. Since 1 January 2016, it has been on the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) list of substances banned from use by athletes. Meldonium can be used as a metabolic modulator, changing how some hormones accelerate or slow down enzymatic reactions in the body.
