Anarkali (Pakistani Film)
''Anarkali'' is a 1958 Pakistani historical drama film, directed by Anwar Kamal Pasha and starring Noor Jehan and Sudhir in lead roles. Based on the Urdu play of the same name by Imtiaz Ali Taj, the screenplay is written by Anwar Kamal Pasha with dialogues by Qamar Ajnalvi. The film revolves around the love of Jahangir for a slave girl Anarkali which creates a serious conflict between Prince Jahangir and his father, Mughal emperor Akbar. The film was released on 4 June 1958 and its performance was 'average' at the Box Office. Made with a budget of high production, the film is usually compared with landmark Bollywood film, ''Mughal-e-Azam'' which was also based on the same play. Film was praised for its music which was composed by Master Inayat Hussain and Rashid Attre. At Nigar Awards ceremony in 1958, it won two awards; Best Lyricist for Qateel Shifai and Best Playback Singer for Noor Jehan. Anwar Kamal Pasha
Anwar Kamal Pasha ( ur, ), (23 February 1925 – 13 October 1987) was the pioneer in the Pakistan film industry and an early Pakistani film director and producer from Lahore, Pakistan. Life and career Pasha was a graduate from the Forman Christian College, Lahore, and went on to earn two Master of Arts degrees at the University of the Punjab. He generally scripted, produced and directed his own films, which dealt with such social themes as poverty, love, social strata, suicide, moral decay and death. Anwar Kamal Pasha trained and introduced many new people to the Pakistan film industry who later made a name for themselves, including film directors M. S. Dar, M. Akram, Altaf Hussain (film director), music directors Master Inayat Hussain and later his younger brother Master Abdullah. Mughal-e-Azam
''Mughal-e-Azam'' () is a 1960 Indian epic historical drama film produced and directed by K. Asif. Starring Prithviraj Kapoor, Dilip Kumar, Madhubala, and Durga Khote, it follows the love affair between Mughal Prince Salim (who went on to become Emperor Jahangir) and Anarkali, a court dancer. Salim's father, Emperor Akbar, disapproves of the relationship, which leads to a war between father and son. The development of ''Mughal-e-Azam'' began in 1944, when Asif read a 1922 play called ''Anarkali,'' by the playwright Imtiaz Ali Taj, which is set in the reign of Emperor Akbar (1556–1605). The Pakistan Movement ( ur, , translit=Teḥrīk-e-Pākistān) was a political movement in the first half of the 20th century that aimed for the creation of Pakistan from the Muslim-majority areas of British India. It was connected to the perceived need for self-determination for Muslims under British rule at the time. Muhammad Ali Jinnah, a barrister and politician led this movement after the Lahore Resolution was passed by All-India Muslim League on March 23rd, 1940 and Ashraf Ali Thanwi as a religious scholar supported it. Saifuddin Saif
Saifuddin Saif (20 July 1922 12 July 1993) was a Pakistani lyricist, poet, film producer-director, and the founder of Rehnuma Films, a film studio of 1954. He was involved in writing poems and lyrics before and after the Partition. However, most of his films written before partition remained unreleased due to political instabilities in the subcontinent. He was best known for his film Kartar Singh, and is also credited for writing lyrics for Pakistan's historical and first-ever feature film '' Teri Yaad'', which helped him to appear among the prominent writers. As a poet, he wrote eleven gazals and four nazms on various subjects, including fifteen on friendship, fifteen on social, one on hope, and a poetic book titled ''Kham-e-Kakul'', also known as ''Khan-e-Kamal'' (amazing ruler). Tanvir Naqvi
Tanvir Naqvi (born Syed Khursheed Ali; 16 February 1919 1 November 1972), also spelled Tanveer Naqvi, was a Pakistani lyricist and poet. He wrote lyrics for 200 uncertain films, including Lollywood and Bollywood. He made his debut in Indian cinema with ''Swami'' film directed by Abdul Rashid Kardar, and later remained active in Pakistani film industry for over fifteen years. He earned recognition after writing "Aawaz De Kaha Hai" song for ''Anmol Ghadi'' film and "Rang Laayega Shaheedon ka Lahoo" song covering 1965 India-Pakistan war. Man Singh I, popularly known as Mirza Raja Man Singh (21 December 1550 – 6 July 1614) was the 29th Kachwaha Rajput Raja of Amer, later known as Jaipur state, in Rajputana.
