Anami Narayan Roy
Anami Narayan Roy was the Director General of Police, Maharashtra, India and the former Police Commissioner of Mumbai. His reappointment as DGP was announced by the Government of Maharashtra on 22 January 2010. Controversial and sudden appointment as Mumbai police chief Roy took charge as the Police Commissioner of Mumbai in February 2004 after the Government of Maharashtra "suddenly" transferred 3 police commissioners including that of Mumbai, P. S. Pasricha. At that time, Roy was serving as the Police Commissioner of Pune. Pasricha was caught unawares by this development and said that he was "very sad that he didn't get the time to implement his plans and ideas". Director general of police (DGP) is a rank in the Indian Police Service, held by the highest ranking police officer in a State or a Union Territory of India, typically heading the state or the UT police force. Maharashtra Control Of Organised Crime Act
The Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act, 1999 (Mah. 30/1999) is a law enacted by the state of Maharashtra in India in 1999 to combat organised crime and terrorism. Known as 'MCOCA', the Act provides the State Government with special powers to tackle these issues, including powers of surveillance, relaxed evidentiary standards and procedural safeguards, and prescribing additional criminal penalties, including the death penalty. Daya Nayak
Daya Nayak is an Indian police assistant inspector with the Mumbai police. He joined Mumbai police - then known as Bombay - in 1995, and rose to fame as an encounter-specialist in the late 1990s. As a member of the Detection Unit, he gunned down more than 80 gangsters of the Mumbai underworld. In 2006, he was temporarily suspended, based on allegations of criminal links and disproportionate income by a journalist. The Anti-Corruption Bureau could not find any evidence against him, and he was reinstated by the Mumbai Police in 2012.
