Ana Paula Lobato
Ana Paula Dias Lobato Nova Alves (born 11 May 1984) is a Brazilian nurse and politician who has been a senator from the state of Maranhão since 2023. She assumed the position after the elected senator, Flávio Dino, became the Minister of Justice and Public Security during the second Lula presidency, and became the titular senator once he was nominated for the Supreme Federal Court. She had previously been the vice-mayor for the city of Pinheiro. She is affiliated with the Brazilian Socialist Party (PSB). As of 2023, she is the youngest senator in the Brazilian federal senate. She was a candidate for federal deputy in 2014, and as vice-mayor for Pinheiro in 2016, but was not elected to either position. She was elected vice-mayor in 2021, with as mayor. She briefly served as mayor after Genésio had been removed by court order. Maranhão () is a state in Brazil. Located in the country's Northeast Region, it has a population of about 7 million and an area of . 2016 Brazilian Municipal Elections
The Brazilian municipal elections of 2016 took place on 2 October 2016 and on 30 October 2016 (for cities with more than 200,000 voters, where the second round is available). Electors chose mayors, vice-mayors and city councillors of all 5,568 cities of the country. The partisan conventions took place between 20 July and 5 August. The party political broadcast started on 26 August and ended on 29 September. Until 2012, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays there was the broadcast for candidates to city halls, 30 minutes long. The broadcasts for candidates for city councils were broadcast on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, also 30 minutes long. At least 97 cities had only one candidate for mayor in these elections. Flávio Dino
Flávio Dino de Castro e Costa (born 30 April 1968) is a Brazilian attorney, politician and teacher. A former federal judge, Dino was elected to the Chamber of Deputies in 2006, serving a four-year term until 2011, representing the state of Maranhão. He was elected as the governor of Maranhão after running in the 2014 election. He became the governor of Maranhão on 1 January 2015. He was reelected in 2018. Dino also served 3 years as president of Embratur, a federal agency promoting Brazilian tourism, between his legislative term and gubernatorial term.
