Ana de Miguel Álvarez (born 26 October 1961) is a Spanish philosopher and feminist. Since 2005 she has been a Academic ranks in Spain, titular professor of Moral and Political Philosophy at King Juan Carlos University of Madrid. She directs the course History of Feminist Theory at the Complutense University of Madrid's . Biography Ana de Miguel studied philosophy at the University of Salamanca and received her doctorate at the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM). In 1984 she completed her thesis ''Marxismo y feminismo en Alexandra Kollontai, Alejandra Kollontai''. Her doctoral thesis is entitled ''Elites y participación política en la obra de John Stuart Mill''. Santander, Spain
Santander () is the capital of the autonomous community and historical region of Cantabria situated on the north coast of Spain. It is a port city located east of Gijón and west of Bilbao with a population of 172,000 (2017). Anna Wheeler (author)
Anna Wheeler (c. 1780 – 1848), also known by her maiden name of Anna Doyle, was an Irish born British writer and advocate of political rights for women and the benefits of contraception. She married Francis Massey Wheeler when she was "about 16" and he was "about 19", although the year is not known. They separated twelve years later. After his death she supplemented her income by translating the works of French philosophers. She was an acquaintance of Robert Owen, Jeremy Bentham, and Frances Wright. The philosopher William Thompson described his book ''Appeal of One Half of the Human Race, Women, Against the Pretensions of the Other Half, Men, to Retain them in Political, and Hence in Civil and Domestic, Slavery'' as the "joint property" of himself and her. William Thompson (philosopher)
William Thompson (1775 – 28 March 1833) was an Irish political and philosophical writer and social reformer, developing from utilitarianism into an early critic of capitalist exploitation whose ideas influenced the cooperative, trade union and Chartist movements as well as Karl Marx. Born into the Anglo-Irish Ascendancy of wealthy landowners and merchants of Cork society, his attempt to will his estate to the cooperative movement after his death sparked a long court case as his family fought successfully to have the will annulled. According to E. T. Craig, this decision to will his estate to the cooperative movement was taken after a visit to the pioneering Ralahine Commune. Laura Nuño Gómez (born 27 October 1967) is a Spanish political scientist, researcher, and feminist activist. She is director of the Gender Studies Chair of the Institute of Public Law and the Gender Equality Observatory at King Juan Carlos University (URJC), as well as the creator of the first academic degree in Gender Studies in Spain, and of various postgraduate programs in this subject. She is the author of ''El mito del varón sustentador'' (The Myth of the Male Sustainer), as well as about 30 articles and books about her research.
