It was shot at the Hunnia Studios in Budapest. The film's sets were designed by the art director Max Heilbronner. Jacob Fleck
Jacob Fleck (8 November 1881 in Vienna as Jacob Julius Fleck – 19 September 1953, also in Vienna) was an Austrian film director, screenwriter, film producer and cameraman. He is noted for his long-standing professional partnership with his wife Luise Fleck who co-directed his films with him. Biography In 1910, together with Anton Kolm, Kolm's wife Luise (who later married Fleck), and her brother Claudius Veltée, Jacob Fleck established the film production company ''Erste Österreichische Kinofilms-Industrie'' in Wien-Alsergrund. The company changed its name only a year later to ''Wiener Kunstfilm-Industrie'', in which Fleck worked partly as a cameraman, but principally as a producer and director together with Luise Kolm in making numerous films. Anton Kolm died in 1922. In 1923 Fleck moved with Luise Kolm to Berlin, where they married in 1924: Luise was known from then on as Luise Fleck. Both of them worked for Hegewald-Film and UFA. Gyula Kabos (19 March 1887, Budapest – 6 October 1941, New York) was a Hungarian actor and comedian, widely known for his comedic movie roles in the late 1930s. Biography Early years Kabos was born on 19 March 1887, in Budapest as Gyula Kann. After completing Elek Solymosi's acting school, he started acting in Szabadka ( Subotica), where he worked until 1910 with a short interruption in 1906–07 when he lived in Zombor (Sombor). Szabadka granted him his first successes, his first successful forays into the world of theatre, and this is the town where he met his first great comedic partner, Gyula Gózon. Following his advice, he moved to Nagyvárad ( Oradea) and lived there from 1910 to 1913. Later on, he remembered these years quite fondly. He was a well-known actor in town and had various comic adventures with his partner (which were released weekly in the town newspaper). Oscar Beregi (born Oszkár Beregi, 24 January 1876 – 18 October 1965) was a Hungarian-Jewish actor who appeared primarily in German films. Biography Beregi was born in Budapest, Hungary, and was the father of actor Oscar Beregi Jr. He acted on stage in Hungary for 21 years. In April 1920, as "the only Jewish actor of prominence" acting with the Budapest National Theatre, he was the subject of a demonstration that led to the group's changing its program and presenting a play in which Beregi did not participate. In the early 1920s, Beregi was exiled from Hungary because of his "alleged political activities". During the exile he acted in Vienna for four years. He served as president of the Film Actors' Association of Vienna. Beregi appeared in 27 films between 1916 and 1953. He played Professor Baum in Fritz Lang's film ''Das Testament des Dr. Mabuse''.
