Amy Holton
Amy Holton Lyons (born April 5, 1965) is an American former professional tennis player. Biography Holton, one of four children to Richard and Marcy, spent her early years in Dayton, Ohio before moving to Sarasota, Florida in the late 1970s. She attended Riverview High School and won a state title with the team in 1980, as well as national titles in doubles during this time with elder sister Kathy. The pair also played together professionally, including at the French Open and Wimbledon. As a singles player, Holton was a semi-finalist at the 1983 Pittsburgh Open and twice made the French Open third round, in 1983 and 1984. At the 1984 Wimbledon Championships she played her most high-profile match when she lost in the second round to top seed Martina Navratilova. 1983 French Open – Women's Singles
Chris Evert defeated Mima Jaušovec in the final, 6–1, 6–2 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 1983 French Open. It was her fifth French Open singles title and her 15th major singles title overall. Martina Navratilova was the defending champion, but was defeated in the fourth round by Kathy Horvath. It was her only loss for the entire year and ended a 39 match winning streak. This edition of the French Open was the first to have a 128-player main draw. This tournament marked the first major appearance of future world No. 1 and 22-time major champion Steffi Graf. At 13 years, 11 months and 9 days of age, Graf became the youngest player to compete in the main draw of a major. The ''Sarasota Herald-Tribune'' is a daily newspaper, located in Sarasota, Florida, founded in 1925 as the ''Sarasota Herald''. History The newspaper was owned by The New York Times Company from 1982 to 2012. It was then owned by Halifax Media Group from 2012 to 2015, when New Media Investment Group acquired Halifax. The ''Herald-Tribune'' was one of the first newspapers in the nation to have an in-house 24-hour cable news channel. SNN was founded in 1995 along with partner Comcast. Alycia Moulton (born February 18, 1961) is a retired American tennis player. Career Moulton won the U.S. Junior Championships in 1979 and was runner-up at the Wimbledon Junior Championships in 1979. She was active on the professional tour from 1978 to 1988. Her powerful game brought her two singles titles in 1983 and five doubles titles. She reached a career-high ranking of 18 in singles in November 1984, and won the Ridgewood Open and the Virginia Slims of Newport, Rhode Island. Beth Herr (born 28 May 1964) is an American tennis player from Centerville, Ohio, who won four Junior Grand Slam titles, the NCAA singles and team titles and one professional tennis tournament. In her home state of Ohio, she was a two-time high school singles state champion (1980-1981). Her NCAA singles title came in 1983. College Herr became the number-one junior tennis player in the world at the age of 16.
