Norwegian ( no, norsk, links=no ) is a North Germanic language spoken mainly in Norway, where it is an official language. Along with Swedish and Danish, Norwegian forms a dialect continuum of more or less mutually intelligible local and regional varieties; some Norwegian and Swedish dialects, in particular, are very close. These Scandinavian languages, together with Faroese and Icelandic as well as some extinct languages, constitute the North Germanic languages. Harald Amundsen (born 30 November 1962) is a Norwegian sprint canoer who competed in the 1980s. He won two medals in the K-4 10000 m event at the ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships with a gold in 1987 and a silver in 1983. Monte Amundsen (January 15, 1930 – December 24, 2011) was an American opera and musical singer who appeared on Broadway in Marc Blitzstein's musical ''Juno'' in 1959, which starred Shirley Booth. Biography Composer Marc Blitzstein was reportedly so delighted with Amundsen that he expanded her role in ''Juno (musical)'' to include three major songs: '' I Wish It So'', ''For Love'', and ''My True Heart'', as well as a duet with Shirley Booth, ''The Bird Upon The Tree''. Olaf Amundsen
Olaf Amundsen (13 May 1876–12 December 1939) was a Norway, Norwegian lawyer and politician for the Venstre (Norway), Liberal Party. Amundsen was elected to the Parliament of Norway for the parliamentary terms 1910-1912 and 1913–1918. From 1918–1921, he was a , the leader of the Fosen District Court in Trøndelag. He then became the Minister of Justice and the Police (Norway), Minister of Justice in the second government of Otto Blehr. The government was in office from 1921 to 1923, but Amundsen resigned his post on 24 August 1922 when he was named to the post of County governor (Norway), County Governor of Nordland county. Roald Engelbregt Gravning Amundsen (, ; ; 16 July 1872 – ) was a Norwegian explorer of polar regions. He was a key figure of the period known as the Heroic Age of Antarctic Exploration. Born in Borge, Østfold, Norway, Amundsen began his career as a polar explorer as first mate on Adrien de Gerlache's Belgian Antarctic Expedition of 1897–1899.
