Amukta Ani
''Amukta Ani'' (English: ''Two In One'') is a 2014 Manipuri film directed by Romi Meitei and produced by Jenny Khurai. It stars Bala Hijam, Roshan Pheiroijam and Sushmita Mangsatabam in the lead roles. The story of the film was written by Laishram Santosh and Thoi, and screenplay by Romi Meitei and Laishram Santosh. The film was released at Bhagyachandra Open Air Theatre (BOAT) on 11 October 2014 with a red-carpet event hosted by WOL Media named as ''Khongul''. Synopsis The movie is about a boy striving to earn a girl's love. Mangal is a spoilt child. Both Mangal and Thoibi study at the same school. Romi Meitei
Romi Meitei (born 19 September 1976) is an Indian film director and lyricist who works in Manipuri films. He is a recipient of several awards at several film festivals organised in India and abroad and has directed movies for around two decades. ''Thoiba Thoibi'', ''Inga Nonglakta'', ''Manithoiba'', ''Natephamda Tero'', ''Chumthang Makhong'', ''Mikithi'' and ''Dharmagi Mingda Imagidamak'' are some of the well-known movies he directed. Bala Hijam
Bala Hijam is an Indian actress, who predominantly appears in Manipuri films. Besides this, she has also acted in one Malayalam thriller road film, titled ''Neelakasham Pachakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi''. She is recognized as one of the most successful actresses of Manipur. In 2022, she appeared in Hemanta Khuman's music video ''Taningle''. Career Hijam made her film debut at age 15 in Oken Amakcham's ''Tellanga Mamei'', a Manipuri film through the cinematographer of the movie Irom Maipak. Sushmita Mangsatabam is an Indian actress and singer who predominantly appears in Manipuri films. She completed her schooling from North Point Higher Secondary School. She is well known for her titular role in the movie ''Thabaton''. Career She started singing at the age of thirteen, when she was in VIII standard. Meitei (), also known as Manipuri (, ), is a Tibeto-Burman language of north-eastern India. The Cinema of Manipur is the film industry based in Manipur, India. It includes not only Meitei language movies but all the films made in different languages of the different communities in Manipur. The Manipuri film industry was born when ''Matamgi Manipur'' was released on 9 April 1972. Before this, there were many attempts to make a film in the state, the most significant being ''Mainu Pemcha'' in 1948 which was left incomplete due to various problems. The tradition of documentary film making in Manipur was said to have been pioneered by the late Maharaj Kumar Priya Brata Singh who shot "actuality movies" with his 8 mm camera in 1936.
