Amos (album)
''Amos'' is the second studio album by American country music singer Michael Ray. It was released via Atlantic Nashville on June 1, 2018. Its lead single, " Get to You", has charted in the top 20 on the ''Billboard'' Country Airplay chart. Ray named the album after his late grandfather, who was the inspiration for most of the tracks on the album. Commercial performance The album debuted on ''Billboard''s Top Country Albums at number 5, with 6,700 copies sold. It sold an additional 1,600 copies in the second week. It has sold 16,600 copies in the United States as of April 2019. Michael Ray (singer)
Michael Ray Roach (born April 29, 1988) is an American country music singer and songwriter. He is signed to Warner Music Nashville. He has released two albums for the label: '' Michael Ray'' and ''Amos''. Biography Ray was born in Eustis, Florida. He was inspired by his grandfather Amos "Wilson" Roach, who played music for him and taught him how to play guitar, in addition to having him perform at assisted living centers. Ray chose to form a band in southern Florida after graduating high school, and a disc jockey at WPCV began playing his music. He independently released an album in 2010, which was discovered by manager Tony Conway. Ray was mentored by John Rich of Big & Rich on the singing competition '' The Next: Fame Is at Your Doorstep'', which he won. He and Rich co-wrote Big & Rich's 2015 single, " Run Away with You". Lee Thomas Miller (born in Nicholasville, Kentucky) is an American country music songwriter and occasional record producer. Ben Hayslip (born March 11, 1970 in Evans, Georgia) is an American country music songwriter. Early life Hayslip first attended Valdosta High School in Valdosta GA where he was a freshman quarterback for the 1984 State and National champion Valdosta Wildcats. In 1985 his family relocated to Evans, Georgia where Hayslip attended Evans High School near Augusta, Georgia. Hayslip became a four-year starter and an All-State first baseman helping to lead the Evans baseball team to a runner-up finish in the 1985 State Championship. In his senior year, his Evans Knights won the 1988 Georgia state championship, finishing with a 29-1 record and a #3 national ranking by USA Today.
