''Amor y Alegria'' (English: ''Love and Joy'') is the second studio album recorded by American salsa singer-songwriter Luis Enrique. The album was released by CBS Discos in 1988 (see 1988 in music). The album earned him international recognition as the album was produced during the salsa romantica era of the 1980s. Some of the songs are cuts from the previous album, ''Amor de Medianoche'' (1987). Luis Enrique Mejía López (born September 28, 1962) is a Nicaraguan singer-songwriter. He is known as "El Príncipe de la Salsa" (''The Prince of Salsa''). He achieved widespread success with the single " Yo No Sé Mañana". Early life and education He attended La Serna High School in Whittier, California. Career He started his career in the late 1980s and achieved success in the 1990s. He was one of the leading pioneers that led to the salsa romántica movement in the 1980s. José Gómez Romero, artistically known as Dyango (born March 5, 1940), nicknamed "The Voice of Love", is a Spanish musician and singer of romantic music. The Lo Nuestro Award for Tropical Album of the Year is an honor presented annually by American television network Univision at the Lo Nuestro Awards. The accolade was established to recognize the most talented performers of Latin music. The nominees and winners were originally selected by a voting poll conducted among program directors of Spanish-language radio stations in the United States and also based on chart performance on '' Billboard'' Latin music charts, with the results being tabulated and certified by the accounting firm Deloitte. Emmanuel (born Jesús Emmanuel Arturo Acha Martinez, April 16, 1955, in Mexico City) is a Mexican singer who debuted in the 1970s.
