''Among the Ghosts'' is the tenth studio album by American country-punk band Lucero. It was released August 3, 2018 under Thirty Tigers. Production The album was recorded live at Phillips Recording with producer Matt Ross-Spang. American actor Michael Shannon features on "Back to the Night". The track "Loving" features on the 2016 film, ''Loving'' Critical reception ''Among the Ghosts'' was met with "generally favorable" reviews from critics. Lucero (band)
Lucero is an American country-punk/alternative country/alternative rock band based in Memphis, Tennessee, United States. Lucero's sound has been described as a "synthesis of soul, rock, and country hatis distinctly Memphisian." They have released 11 albums and one live DVD, mostly through their own label. The band mainly tours around North America. Biography 1998–2007: Formation and early years Lucero had their start in Memphis, TN and played for the first time in early 1998. Weighted Arithmetic Mean
The weighted arithmetic mean is similar to an ordinary arithmetic mean (the most common type of average), except that instead of each of the data points contributing equally to the final average, some data points contribute more than others. The notion of weighted mean plays a role in descriptive statistics and also occurs in a more general form in several other areas of mathematics. If all the weights are equal, then the weighted mean is the same as the arithmetic mean. While weighted means generally behave in a similar fashion to arithmetic means, they do have a few counterintuitive properties, as captured for instance in Simpson's paradox. ''Loving'' is a 2016 American biographical romantic drama film which tells the story of Richard and Mildred Loving, the plaintiffs in the 1967 U.S. Supreme Court (the Warren Court) decision ''Loving v. Virginia'', which invalidated state laws prohibiting interracial marriage. The film was produced by Big Beach and Raindog Films, and distributed by Focus Features. The film takes inspiration from ''The Loving Story'' (2011) by Nancy Buirski, a documentary which follows the Lovings and their landmark case. The film was directed by Jeff Nichols, who also wrote the screenplay. Matt Ross-Spang is an American record producer, Grammy award winning engineer, and mixer. His credits include such artists as Jason Isbell, Margo Price, John Prine and Elvis Presley. Life and career Matt Ross-Spang, born in Memphis, Tennessee, began working at the Sun Studio when he was just 16, working his way from an intern to the Chief Engineer. Wanting to capture what made Sun Studio great, Ross-Spang championed hard to find, install, and use the same period equipment that Sam Phillips engineered with from the 1950s. His 11 years of dedication to Sun, and its signature sound, garnered national attention when it was featured by Lester Holt on NBC's ''Nightly News'' and ''The Today Show'', as well as NPR's ''All Things Considered''. History The company was founded in 2002 by David Macias and Deb Markland and is distributed by RED Distribution.
