Amnokgang Sports Club
Amnokgang Sports Club is a North Korean men's sports club, multi-sports club. Based in Pyongyang, the club competes in the DPR Korea Premier Football League. History Affiliated with the Ministry of Social Security (North Korea), Ministry of People's Security, it was founded on 19 September 1947. The club is best known for its men's and Amnokgang Sports Club (women), women's association football, football teams. The men's football team presently plays in the DPR Korea League, DPR Korea Premier League, and in various domestic cup competitions. They won several competitions in the 1960s, and won national titles in 2001 DPR Korea League, 2001, 2006 DPR Korea League, 2006, and 2008 DPR Korea League, 2008. The Yalu River () or Amnok River () is a river on the border between China and North Korea. Together with the Tumen River to its east, and a small portion of Paektu Mountain, the Yalu forms the China–North Korea border, border between China and North Korea. Its valley has been the scene of several military conflicts in the past centuries. It borders North Korea to the south and China to the north. Name The Chinese name ''Yalu'' ("duck-green") was first attested during the Tang dynasty. According to the ''Tongdian'' (8th century), the river was named after its color, which resembled that of a mallard's head. The Korean name "Amnok" follows the Sino-Xenic_vocabularies, Sino-Korean reading of the same name. April 25 Sports Club (, ''Sa io ch'eyuktan''), shortly 4.25 SC, also known as April 25 National Defence Sports Club (4.25'국방체육단', ''Sa io "Kukpang ch'eyuktan"''), is a multi-sports club based in Pyongyang, North Korea, primarily known for its men's and women's football teams. The 2007 edition of the Technical Innovation Contest was played with teams in two groups, with the first and second-place finishers in each group advancing to an elimination stage. In the semi-finals, P'yŏngyang City defeated Kigwanch'a 2–1, and Amrokkang defeated Kyŏnggong'ŏp.
