Amnirana Lepus
''Amnirana lepus'' is a species of frog in the family Ranidae. It is found in Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Central African Republic, Republic of the Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, and northern Angola. Common names Andersson's Cameroon frog, Andersson's white-lipped frog, and jumping white-lipped frog have been proposed for it. Description Males grow to a snout–vent length of and females to . The body is elongated and the snout is moderately pointed, rounded in lateral view. The tympanum is relatively large. The legs are slender and long. The toes are fully webbed. The finger and the toe tips bear discs. The upper surfaces are dark to bronze-brown, possibly with darker spots. The flanks turn to pale green in their lower part and have some dark patterning. The venter is pale green. Males do not have an external vocal sac, but they do have short oval glands in their upper arms and nuptial pads on the thumbs. Lars Gabriel Andersson (22 February 1868 – 13 February 1951) was a Swedish schoolteacher and herpetologist. He studied at Uppsala University and earned his PhD in 1909. During his long career he taught classes at several schools in and near Stockholm. In 1894–95 and from 1897 to 1902 he worked as an assistant in the vertebrate department at the Naturhistoriska riksmuseet in Stockholm. Fritz Nieden (1883 – 1942) was a German zoologist who specialized in African herpetology. He worked as a zoologist at the ''Museum für Naturkunde'' in Berlin. His name is associated with Nieden's dwarf skink, '' Panaspis megalurus''. ''Amnirana'' is a genus of frogs in the family Ranidae, "true frogs". The genus is primarily found in Sub-Saharan Africa, but one species occurs in parts of southern and southeastern Asia. Some of the African species are widespread but contain undescribed cryptic diversity. Most (but not all) species have a white upper lip, and the genus is sometimes known as the white-lipped frogs.
