Amit Bhatt (born 19 August 1972) is an Indian television actor. He has appeared in a number of Hindi television serials. He is mostly known for playing the role of ''Champaklal Jayantilal Gada'' in the Hindi sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. Personal life Bhatt is from Saurashtra region of Gujarat. He is a Bachelor in Commerce (B.Com.). He is currently living with his family in Mumbai. Bhatt is a father of twin sons. ''Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah'' () is an Indian sitcom based on the weekly column "Duniya Ne Undha Chasma" by Taarak Mehta in '' Chitralekha'' magazine. It is produced by Asit Kumar Modi. It premiered on 28 July 2008 and airs on Sony SAB and is also digitally available on SonyLIV. The show holds the Guinness World Record for the longest-running Indian daily sitcom on television by episode count. Saurashtra, also known as Sorath or Kathiawar, is a peninsular region of Gujarat, India, located on the Arabian Sea coast. It covers about a third of Gujarat state, notably 11 districts of Gujarat, including Rajkot District. It was formerly a state of India before it merged with Bombay state.
