Amir Yaron
Amir Yaron (born 1964) is an American-Israeli economist and governor of the Bank of Israel. He was announced as governor-designate of the bank by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on 9 October 2018. He was sworn into office on 24 December 2018 at the residence of Israel's president. Early life Amir Yaron was born in Israel in 1964. He grew up in Ramat Hasharon and Ramat Gan. He holds bachelor's and master's degrees from Tel Aviv University. He also holds a master's degree from the University of Chicago, received in 1992. He received a Ph.D from the University of Chicago in 1994.
