Amir Khosrow Dalirsani
Amir Khosrow Dalirsani ( fa, امیرخسرو دلیرثانی, also spelled Amir Khosro Dalirsani), an Iranian national-religious activist and a member of the Committee Against Arbitrary Arrests, has been arrested after Iranian presidential election in 2009. Arrest Dalirsani was arrested on January 3, 2010, following the popular protests on December 27, 2009 (Ashura). Judge Mogheyseh of the 28th branch of the Revolutionary Court charged him with "gathering and collusion with the intent to commit crimes against national security" to 4 years in prison. His trial was held on May 16, 2010. The decision has been communicated to Dalirsani who is currently detained at ward 350 of Evin Prison. Amir Khosro Dalirsani who is serving his 4-year prison sentence, is deprived of prison leaves and prison visits since March 2010, with his 5 years old child. 2009 Iranian Presidential Election
Presidential elections were held in Iran on 12 June 2009, with incumbent Mahmoud Ahmadinejad running against three challengers. The next morning the Islamic Republic News Agency, Iran's news agency, announced that with two-thirds of the votes counted, Ahmadinejad had won the election with 62% of the votes cast, and that Mir-Hossein Mousavi had received 34% of the votes cast. There were large irregularities in the results and people were surprised by them, which resulted in protests of millions of Iranians, across every Iranian city and around the world and the emergence of the opposition Iranian Green Movement. Hunger Strike
A hunger strike is a method of non-violent resistance in which participants fast as an act of political protest, or to provoke a feeling of guilt in others, usually with the objective to achieve a specific goal, such as a policy change. Most hunger strikers will take liquids but not solid food. In cases where an entity (usually the state) has or is able to obtain custody of the hunger striker (such as a prisoner), the hunger strike is often terminated by the custodial entity through the use of force-feeding. Early history Fasting was used as a method of protesting injustice in pre-Christian Ireland, where it was known as ''Troscadh'' or ''Cealachan''. Haleh Sahabi
Haleh Sahabi (4 February 1958 – 1 June 2011) was an Iranian humanitarian and democracy activist. She was the daughter of former Iranian MP and veteran opposition figure Ezzatollah Sahabi, and the granddaughter of Yadollah Sahabi. She died at her father's funeral from cardiac arrest, the cause of her cardiac arrest however is disputed. Personal life Sahabi was born on 4 February 1958, in Tehran, Iran, daughter of Ezatollah Sahabi, and Zarrindokht Ataei, whose maternal uncle was Mehdi Bazargan. She was married to Taghi Shamekhi and has a son named Yahya and two daughters, Amene and Asie. Arrest and imprisonment Sahabi was a member of the "Mothers for Peace" group and a campaigner for women's rights.
