When Heroes Fly
''When Heroes Fly'' ( he, בשבילה גיבורים עפים, Bishvila Giborim Afim, Heroes fly for her) is an Israeli drama television series that was first broadcast in Israel on Keshet 12 in May 2018. The series was created by Omri Givon and loosely based on the novel of the same name by Amir Gutfreund. It uses flashbacks to account for the differing time periods. In October 2018, Netflix acquired international broadcasting rights to the series. Keshet has commissioned a second season. The Sapir Prize for Literature of Israel is a prestigious annual literary award presented for a work of literature in the Hebrew language. The prize is awarded by Mifal HaPayis (Israel's state lottery), and is a part of the organization's cultural initiatives. It bears the name of the late Pinhas Sapir, a former Finance Minister of Israel, and was first awarded in 2000. Prize money The Sapir Prize, based on the British Man Booker Prize, is the most lucrative literary prize awarded in Israel. Jessica Cohen
Jessica Cohen (; born 1973) is a British-Israeli-American literary translator. Her translation of David Grossman's 2014 novel '' A Horse Walks Into a Bar'' was awarded the 2017 Man Booker International Prize. Biography Cohen was born in Colchester, England to Stanley Cohen and Ruth Kretzmer in 1973. She moved with her family to Israel at the age of seven and went on to study English literature at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. After moving to the United States with her husband in 1997, she studied Middle Eastern literature and languages at Indiana University. Cohen has translated a number of Hebrew language books into English, including those by Nir Baram, David Grossman, Amir Gutfreund, , Ronit Matalon, Rutu Modan, Dorit Rabinyan, Tom Segev and Nava Semel.
