American Sports University
American Sports University was a private sports business university in San Bernardino, California. It remained unaccredited since its inception in 2006 until the Department of Consumer Affairs denied renewal of their license in 2016. Location American Sports University's building is located in Downtown San Bernardino. History ASU opened in the fall of 2006. Dr. Donald Singer was the initial president of the university and Dr. Harry Hwang was the founder and chairman of the board. The board of directors were five members that include Hwang's wife and daughter. Several buildings that composed the former ASU campus were previously owned by the ''San Bernardino Sun''. The campus spanned two blocks and included instructional classrooms, a dormitory, the ASU gym (formerly the San Bernardino Sun printer press), and the future nursing school building (formerly the San Bernardino Public Defender's Office). Danny Lopez (boxer)
Danny Lopez (born July 6, 1952) is an American former professional boxer who was the WBC featherweight champion of the world from November 1976 to February 1980. His nickname was ''Little Red''. Known for his tremendous punching power, in 2003 ''The Ring'' magazine rated Lopez at number 26 on their list of "100 Greatest Punchers". Michael Gerard Tyson (born June 30, 1966) is an American former professional boxer who competed from 1985 to 2005. Muhammad Ali (; born Cassius Marcellus Clay Jr.; January 17, 1942 – June 3, 2016) was an American professional boxer and activist. Paul Andre Banke (born March 1, 1964, in Blythe, California) is a former World Boxing Council Super Bantamweight champion boxer, and is the first American boxer to go public with an AIDS diagnosis. Having lived 29 years after being diagnosed with AIDS, Banke, who accepted medical treatment, is the longest living professional boxer with the disease. Career Banke turned pro in 1985. After losing a 12-round split decision to Daniel Zaragoza in June 1989, Banke captured the WBC Super Bantamweight Title in April 1990 with an upset ninth-round TKO victory over Daniel Zaragoza. Diego "Chico" Corrales Jr. (August 25, 1977 – May 7, 2007) was an American professional boxer who competed from 1996 to 2007. Gabriel Ruelas
Gabriel Ruelas, (born on July 23, 1970 in Yerbabuena, Jalisco, Mexico), is a Mexican former professional boxer. Professional career Ruelas turned pro in 1988 and in 1993 challenged WBC Super Featherweight Title holder Azumah Nelson, losing a close majority decision. In 1994 he was able to capture the title by outpointing Jesse James Leija. He defended the belt twice, including an 11th round TKO of Jimmy Garcia of Colombia, who later died from his injuries. Ruelas contemplated retirement after Garcia's death, however, he decided to continue, promising to donate some of his earnings to the Garcia family.
