American River College
American River College (ARC) is a public community college in unincorporated Sacramento, California. It is part of the California Community Colleges System. History The college was opened in 1955 as American River Junior College, on the site of the old Grant Technical College. It moved to its current location in 1958, occupying eight newly built office complexes and the original Cameron ranch house. In 1965 the college became a part of the Los Rios Community College District and became American River College. Today, along with Cosumnes River College, Folsom Lake College and Sacramento City College, ARC is directed by a seven-member board of trustees elected by voters residing in the district. American River Review
''American River Review'' is a literary journal, first published in 1984, by students and faculty of American River College (ARC). An entirely student-produced magazine, the faculty at ARC facilitate in the financial and legal facets of production. Students are responsible for every creative aspect of production including writing, editing, accepting or rejecting submissions, final copy proofing, and the production of art, graphic design, and layout. The headquarters is in Sacramento, California. The ''American River Review'' has expanded the scope of its coverage annually. It currently showcases prose, poetry, fashion, culinary, and visual arts. The 2011 edition included a DVD featuring interviews with staff members and footage of the ARC theater department's dramatic interpretations of the literary pieces. California's 2nd Congressional District
California's 2nd congressional district is a U.S. congressional district in California. Jared Huffman, a Democrat, has represented the district since January 2013. Currently, it encompasses the North Coast region and adjacent areas of the state. It stretches from the Golden Gate Bridge to the Oregon border, and includes all of the portions of Highway 101 within California that are north of San Francisco, excepting a stretch in Sonoma County. Walter William Herger Jr. (born May 20, 1945) is an American politician who served as the U.S. representative for California's 2nd congressional district from 1987 to 2013.
