Mandegar Alborz High School ( fa, دبیرستان ماندگار البرز) is a college-preparatory high school located in the heart of Tehran, Iran. It is one of the first modern high schools in Asia and the Middle East, named after the Alborz mountain range, north of Tehran. Its place in the shaping of Iran's intellectual elite compares with that of Eton College in England and institutions such as Phillips Academy, Phillips Exeter Academy, and Milton Academy in the United States. Amir Farshad Ebrahimi ( fa, امیر فرشاد ابراهیمی ) (born August 14, 1975) is a former member of Ansar-e Hezbollah. Ansar-e Hezbollah used violence against students but Ebrahimi decided, "No, Ansar-e Hezbollah is wrong, you the students are right." Professor Mahmoud Behzad ( fa, محمود بهزاد, b. 1913 - d. 2007), born in Rasht, the capital city of Gilan province, is known as the father of modern biology in Iran. He wrote more than 100 books in Persian and participated in the authorship of more than 200 books in Iran.
