Amer Aziz
Amer Aziz is an orthopedic surgeon who is based in Lahore. He earned his medical degree in the United Kingdom and, according to '' The Washington Times'', is a British citizen. In 2002 the Associated Press profiled Aziz when it became known that he had treated Osama bin Laden and other Al-Qaeda leaders. The ''Associated Press'' described Aziz as "a prominent Pakistani physician". The '' Los Angeles Times'' called him "Pakistan's foremost orthopedic surgeon". The '' New York Post'' asserted that Aziz became radicalized when he traveled to Kosovo to treat wounded Muslims during its war of independence from Yugoslavia. Joint Task Force Guantanamo (JTF-GTMO) is a U.S. military joint task force based at Guantanamo Bay Naval Base, Guantánamo Bay, Cuba on the southeastern end of the base. Ayman Batarfi
Ayman Saeed Abdullah Batarfi is a Yemeni doctor who was held in extrajudicial detention in the United States Guantanamo Bay detention camps, in Cuba. His Guantanamo Internment Serial Number was 627. He is an orthopedic surgeon who graduated from medical school in Pakistan and pursued postdoctoral studies there. On 30 March 2009, the Justice Department announced that the administration had decided to release Batarfi. Guantanamo Bay Detention Camps
The Guantanamo Bay detention camp ( es, Centro de detención de la bahía de Guantánamo) is a United States military prison located within Guantanamo Bay Naval Base, also referred to as Guantánamo, GTMO, and Gitmo (), on the coast of Guantánamo Bay in Cuba. Of the roughly 780 people detained there since January 2002 when the military prison first opened after the September 11 attacks, 735 have been transferred elsewhere, 35 remain there, and 9 have died while in custody. The camp was established by U.S. President George W. Bush's administration in 2002 during the War on Terror following the September 11, 2001 attacks. The 2005 Kashmir earthquake occurred at on 8 October in Pakistani-administered Azad Kashmir.
