Amed Sportif Faaliyetler Kulübü, formerly Diyarbakır Büyükşehir Belediyespor, is a Turkish sports club based in Diyarbakır. The football club plays in TFF Second League since 2013-14 season. It is the football club of Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality. History The club was established in 1972 and competed in the amateur leagues for many years as ''Melikahmet Turanspor'', because of a sponsorship with Turan Gazozlar. The club colours were red and white. In 1985 the club name changed into ''Melikahmetspor'' after the sponsorship had ended. Diyarbakır municipality bought the club in 1990 and changed its name to "Diyarbakır Belediyespor". In October 2014, they changed their name to "Amedspor" without official approval, and therefore have been fined by the Turkish Football Federation (TFF). Mansur Çalar (born 24 February 1986) is a Kurdish footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder for Amed. He became the captain of his team. After a scandal during a league match, in which he assaulted several Sakaryaspor players with a razor blade, he was initially banned by the Disciplinary Committee of the Turkish Football Association (TFF) for life. Serdar Eylik (born 1 February 1990) is a Turkish professional footballer who plays as a winger for Amed. Early life and club career Eylik was born in Elazığ, while his parents were originally from Kars. The family later moved to Istanbul while Eylik was a year old. Eylik joined Galatasaray's youth academy as a ten-year-old in 2000. He was inspired to play football by his uncle, a semi-professional footballer.
