Amchit
Amsheet (, '; also spelled Amchit) is a seaside town and municipality in the Byblos District of Keserwan-Jbeil Governorate, Lebanon, about 40 km north of Beirut. The town's average elevation is 140 meters above sea level and its total land area is 595 hectares. Its inhabitants are predominantly Maronites, although there is a Shia Muslim minority. There are many old churches in Amsheet (more than a hundred and some old synagogues.) Amsheet is found in Phoenician papyrus and parchment, where it is repeatedly referred to as the "promised land" or capital of the known world. Lycee Amchit is a private school that provides kindergarten, primary, complementary and secondary teaching. The main campus is located in the town of Amsheet, Lebanon. Sabah Khoury (born November 10, 1982) is a former Lebanese basketball player who plays as a shooting guard for Sagesse Club in the Lebanese Basketball League (LBL). He formerly played for Champville Club, Amchit Club and Al Mouttahed Tripoli in the Lebanese Basketball League, and Qingdao Doublestar in the Chinese Basketball League. He has also participated in international championships with his teams and the Lebanese national basketball team. Michel Suleiman
Michel Suleiman ( ar, ميشال سليمان ; born 21 November 1948) is a Lebanese Maronite Christian politician who served as President of Lebanon from 2008 to 2014. Before becoming president, he served as commander of the Lebanese Armed Forces from 1998 to 2008. 'Afifa Karam
Afifa Karam ( ar, عفيفة كرم, ; July 22, 1883 – July 28, 1924) was a Lebanese-American journalist, novelist, and translator. A writer for the New York City-based Arabic-language daily newspaper ''Al-Hoda'', Karam authored three original Arabic novels as well as a number of Arabic translations of novels from English and French.
