Ambrief
Ambrief is a commune in the department of Aisne in the Hauts-de-France region of northern France. Geography Ambrief is located some 10 km southeast of Soissons and 30 km northeast of Villers-Cotterêts. It can be accessed on the D951 road from the north which passes through the village and continues south to Chacrise. The D6 road forms the northeastern border of the commune. There are also several country roads linking the village to the west and a country road going to the east. There is an area of forest on the eastern side of the village however the rest of the commune is entirely farmland. Acy () is a commune in the department of Aisne in the Hauts-de-France region of northern France. The inhabitants of the commune are known as ''Acéens'' or ''Acéennes''. The commune has been awarded one flower by the ''National Council of Towns and Villages in Bloom'' in the ''Competition of cities and villages in Bloom''. Geography Acy is located some 5 km southeast of Soissons. The European Route E46 heading east from Soissons forms a section of the northern border however access to the commune is via the Highway D952 which branches from the E46 in the north-west and goes south-east through the heart of the commune to Serches in the south-east. Access to Acy town is on the ''Rue de l'Aube'' which runs off the D952. The D951 branches off the E46 at the same place as the D952 and passes south through the commune to Ambrief in the south. La Ferté-Milon
La Ferté-Milon () is a commune in the Aisne department in Hauts-de-France, northern France. Geography La Ferté-Milon is situated on the river Ourcq, 27 km southwest of Soissons and 30 km northeast of Meaux. La Ferté-Milon station has rail connections to Meaux and Paris. Sights In La Ferté-Milon stand the ruins of an unfinished castle, whose façade was 200 m long and 38 m high. The singular form of the tower walls was probably designed to resist cannons and protect the gate. The façade is preceded by a moat. On the right is a square tower of which two bare walls remain. The top of the ramparts is adorned with machicolation. Access to the town was protected by a former gate of which two towers remain. Behind the ramparts, two 160 mm cannons from 1909 sit facing towards the valley. One is annotated in Russian with the number 5085. Buzancy, Aisne
Buzancy () is a commune in the department of Aisne in Hauts-de-France in northern France. History Buzancy (Buzenciacus). Village of the former region of the Soissonnais, situated on high ground above a narrow valley 10 km south of Soissons. The first mention of Buzancy is in the 9th century. In the 11th century, it belonged to the lords of Pierrefonds who gave it to one of their junior branches. Buzancy became a county seat from then on, and a castle was constructed, of which a tower still remains. The current chateau is that of the former fiefdom of Grandcourt. The church of Buzancy, dedicated to St. Martin, was once the destination of a well-travelled pilgrimage, people going there to cure a sore throat.
