Ambika (Devanagari: अम्बिका, IAST: Ambikā) is generally the name of Adi Shakti, Shakti or Durga, the consort of Sadashiva, the Cosmic Male. She has eight arms, holding multiple weapons. In Jainism, Ambika ( sa, अम्बिका, "Mother") or Ambika Devi ( "the Goddess-Mother") is the "dedicated attendant deity" or "protector goddess" of the 22nd Tirthankara, Neminatha. She is also known as ''Ambai'', ''Amba'', ''Kushmandini'' and ''Amra Kushmandini''. She is often shown with one or more children and often under a tree. Ambika (Mahabharata)
Ambika () is a princess featured in the Mahabharata. The daughter of Kashya, the King of Kingdom of Kashi, Kashi, she is abducted by Bhishma during her svayamvara, and becomes the wife of Vichitravirya, the King of Hastinapur, Hastinapura. Legend Along with her sisters, Amba (Mahabharata), Amba and Ambalika, Ambika was taken by force by Bhishma from their swayamvara, svayamvara, the latter having challenged and defeated the assembled royalty. He presented them to his step-mother, Satyavati, for marriage to Vichitravirya. While Amba expressed her desire not to marry him as she was in love with a king named Salva, Ambika and Ambalika married Vichitravirya, and spent seven years in their husband's company. Ambika is an Indian actress known for her works predominantly across the entire the southern film industry films and in several teleserials. She also did one English film (an Indo-American one), to date. She was one of the top south Indian heroines for more than a decade from 1978 to 1989. Her younger sister Radha was also an actress. Swraj Paul, Baron Paul, (born 18 February 1931) is an Indian-born British business magnate and philanthropist.
