Amberley, West Sussex
Amberley is a village and civil parish in the Horsham District of West Sussex, England. It is situated at the foot of the South Downs, north of Arundel. Its neighbours are Storrington and West Chiltington. The village is noted for its thatched cottages. A house named "The Thatched House" is one of the village's few non-thatched houses. One of the attractions is Amberley Working Museum. Amberley has a railway station on the Arun Valley Line, with regular services to Bognor Regis, Portsmouth and London. To the north of the village is the tidal plain of the River Arun, known as Amberley Wild Brooks. Jeebropilly Mine
The Jeebropilly Mine is an open pit coal mine in the Moreton Basin near Amberley in South East Queensland. The mine is owned by New Hope Coal. The mine ceased operations after 25 years of extraction in February 2007. The mine's closure left one operating mine in Ipswich. To offset the loss of production from Jeebropilly Mine, New Hope expanded mining at the New Acland Mine. The coal-washing plant at Jeebropilly continued to operate so that coal from New Oakleigh Mine could be processed. The mine was recommissioned in 2008 due to high export prices for coal. Fassifern Valley
Fassifern Valley is a valley of the Scenic Rim in South East Queensland. Towns found in the valley include Harrisville, Kalbar, Roadvale, Warril View and Aratula. Fassifern Valley is known as a carrot-producing area, as well as for growing potatoes, onions, pumpkins and melons. It is one of four vegetable-producing regions in southern Queensland, the others being the Lockyer Valley, the eastern Darling Downs and the Granite Belt. The Cunningham Highway passes through the town of Aratula and along ridges in the upper valley towards Cunninghams Gap, Mount Mitchell and parts of the Main Range National Park.
