Amateurliga Württemberg
The Amateurliga Württemberg was the highest football league in the region of the Württemberg Football Association and the third tier of the German football league system from its inception in 1945 until the formation of the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg and the Verbandsliga Württemberg below it in 1978. Overview The Amateurliga Württemberg was formed in 1945 in the southern half of Württemberg-Baden and Württemberg-Hohenzollern, which are now mostly the eastern half of the German state of Baden-Württemberg. FC Heilbronn () was a German association football club based in Heilbronn, Baden-Württemberg formed in 2003 out of a merger between VfR Heilbronn () and Heilbronner SpVgg. In 2012 the club merged with the football department of Union Böckingen to form a new club, the FC Union Heilbronn. History The club was founded in 1896 as ''Heilbronner Fußball Club 96'' and over the next decade assimilated a number of other local clubs beginning in 1900 with a high school team called ''Schüler Fußball Club''. Shortly after that they merged with ''Württemberger Fußball Club'' to become ''Heilbronner Fussballgesellschaft'', and in 1907, were joined by ''FC Amicitia Heilbronn''. Union Böckingen is a German sports club from the district of Böckingen in the city of Heilbronn, Baden-Württemberg. Founded in 1908 out of the merger of ''Fussball Klub Germania 08 Böcking'' and ''Viktoria Böcking'', the club today has 1,200 members in departments for canoeing, Team handball, handball, and skiing. The :German football clubs, footballers made up the largest section in the club with nearly 600 members. The most successful department is the canoe section which has won medals at the national and world championships. Verein für Rasenspiele 1921 Aalen e.V., known simply as VfR Aalen, is a German football club based in Aalen, Baden-Württemberg. The football team is part of a larger sports club which also offers its members gymnastics, table tennis, and cheerleading. Amateurliga Schwarzwald-Bodensee was the highest football division in the southern parts of the Württembergian Football Association and a level three division of the German football league system. The Amateurliga Nordbaden was the highest football league in the region of the North Baden Football Aassociation and the third tier of the German football league system from its inception in 1945 to the formation of the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg and the Verbandsliga Nordbaden below it in 1978. Overview The Amateurliga Nordbaden was formed in 1945 in the northern half of the then-state of Württemberg-Baden, which is now the northwestern part of the German state of Baden-Württemberg.
