Amar Preet Singh
Air Marshal Amar Preet Singh, PVSM, AVSM is an officer of the Indian Air Force. He is serving as the 47th Vice Chief of the Air Staff. He assumed the office on February 1, 2023 succeeding Air Marshal Sandeep Singh. Early life and education Amar Preet Singh is an alumnus of Defence Services Staff College, National Defence College and National Defence Academy. Career Amar Preet Singh was commissioned as a fighter pilot in the Indian Air Force on 21 December 1984. In a distinguished career spanning 38 years, he has flown a variety of fighter and trainer aircraft with more than 4900 hours of operational flying. He is a Qualified Flying Instructor and an experimental test pilot with service flying on a variety of fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft. HAL Tejas
The HAL Tejas is an Indian, single engine, delta wing, light multirole fighter designed by the Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) in collaboration with Aircraft Research and Design Centre (ARDC) of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) for the Indian Air Force and Indian Navy. It came from the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) programme, which began in the 1980s to replace India's ageing MiG-21 fighters but later became part of a general fleet modernisation programme. In 2003, the LCA was officially named "Tejas". It is the smallest and lightest in its class of contemporary supersonic combat aircraft. 50th Independence Anniversary Medal
The 50th Independence Anniversary Medal was issued to commemorate the historic occasion of 50 years of the independence of India. and is authorised for all Armed Forces personnel borne on strength as on 15 August 1997. 75th Independence Anniversary Medal (India)
The 75th Independence Anniversary Medal was issued to commemorate the historic occasion of 75 years of the Indian independence movement, independence of India. Videsh Seva Medal
The Videsh Seva Medal is a service medal of the Indian Armed Forces. It is presented to all ranks of the three services for services rendered outside India. It was instituted on 26 January 1960. It can also be awarded posthumously. History The Videsh Seva Medal was instituted on 26 January 1960 by the Government of India, with the approval of the President of India. Operation Parakram Medal
Operations Parakram Medal is a military award of India. It was awarded in recognition of the services of Armed Forces personnel and civilians in Operation Parakram. Special Service Medal (India)
The Special Service Medal is a military service medal of the Indian Armed Forces. The Special Service Medal is awarded under active service conditions for minor operations or operations of short duration. Clasps are awarded with the medal indicating the particular operation for which it is awarded. For subsequent operations where the clasp is approved, only the Clasp denoting the particular operation is awarded. The name of the operation's location is inscribed on the clasp's bar.
