Amalis
The Amalis is a river of Kėdainiai district municipality, Kaunas County, central Lithuania. It flows for and has a basin area of . It is a right tributary of the river Smilgaitis. It starts in agriculture fields near Šmotiškiai village and flows mostly eastwards till meets the Smilgaitis in Grašva village. The name ''Amalis'' is of uncertain etymology. One version is that it could be derived from the Lithuanian word ''amalas'' ('mistletoe'), another version that it is of ancient origin and could be related with sq, amë ('river course'), grc, ἀμάρα ('ditch'), hit, amiḭara- ('ditch'). The Smilgaitis is a river of Kėdainiai district municipality, Kaunas County, central Lithuania. It flows for and has a basin area of . It is a right tributary of the river Smilga. Its source is nearby Krakės town. It flows through the Josvainiai forest, Meironiškiai, Ruseiniai villages and meets the Smilga river near Stasiūnai. Kėdainiai District Municipality
Kėdainiai () is one of the oldest cities in Lithuania. It is located north of Kaunas on the banks of the Nevėžis River. First mentioned in the 1372 Livonian Chronicle of Hermann de Wartberge, its population is 23,667. Its old town dates to the 17th century. The city is the administrative centre of the Kėdainiai District Municipality.
