Amal Hamad
Amal Tawfiq Abdel Hadi Nashwan Hamad, born on July 12, 1963, in Beit Hanoun, Gaza Strip, is a Palestinian politician and feminist associated with the Fatah movement. As of 2019 she serves as the Palestinian Minister of Women's Affairs in the Shtayyeh Government. In her early years, Hamad received her education in Beit Hanoun and later pursued higher studies at Birzeit University, earning a bachelor's degree in mathematics and a diploma in education. She furthered her education with diplomas in teaching methods and educational psychology from Al-Aqsa University in Gaza. Later, she completed a master's degree in social psychology at Ain Shams University in Egypt and a doctorate in educational psychology from the same university in 2015. Mahmoud Abbas
Mahmoud Abbas ( ar, مَحْمُود عَبَّاس, Maḥmūd ʿAbbās; born 15 November 1935), also known by the kunya Abu Mazen ( ar, أَبُو مَازِن, links=no, ), is the president of the State of Palestine and the Palestinian National Authority. He has been the chairman of the Palestine Liberation Organization ( PLO) since 11 November 2004, PNA president since 15 January 2005, and State of Palestine president since 8 May 2005. Mohammad Ibrahim Shtayyeh ( ar, محمد اشتية) (born 17 January 1958) is a Palestinian politician, academic and economist who became prime minister of the Palestinian National Authority in March 2019. He is a member of Fatah who was elected to its Central Committee in the movement’s 2009 and 2016 elections and is aligned with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas. Born in Tell, Nablus in 1958, Shtayyeh was named a minister of Palestinian Economic Council for Development and Reconstruction (PECDAR), a $1.6 billion public investment fund, in 1996. He served as its director of administration and finance from 1994 to 1996. Beit Hanoun
Beit Hanoun or Beit Hanun ( ar, بيت حانون) is a city on the northeast edge of the Gaza Strip. According to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics, the town had a population of 32,187 in mid-2006. It is administered by the Governance of the Gaza Strip, Hamas administration. It is located by the Hanoun stream, just away from the Israeli town of Sderot. After 19 Palestinian civilians died during shelling by the Israel Defense Forces, IDF in 2006, the United Nations appointed a fact-finding commission, to be led by Desmond Tutu, to investigate if the shelling constituted a war crime; but the investigation was cancelled due to the lack of Israeli cooperation. Birzeit University (BZU; ar, جامعة بيرزيت) is a public university in the West Bank, in the State of Palestine, registered by the Palestinian Ministry of Social Affairs as charitable organization.
