Alışar, Azerbaijan
Alışar (also, Alyshar, Alishar, and Alisher) is a village and municipality in the Sharur District of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Azerbaijan. It is located 5 km in the south-west from the district center, on the bank of the Araz River, on the Sharur plain. Its population is busy with grain-growing and animal husbandry. There are secondary school, club, library and a medical center in the village. It has a population of 2,132. Administrative Divisions Of Azerbaijan
Azerbaijan is administratively divided into 66 districts () and 11 cities () that are subordinate to the Republic. Sharur District
Sharur District ( az, Şərur rayonu) is one of the 7 districts of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan. The district borders the districts of Kangarli, Sadarak, as well as the Vayots Dzor and Ararat provinces of Armenia and the West Azerbaijan Province of Iran. Its capital and largest city is Sharur. As of 2020, the district had a population of 117,600. Etymology The district was known as Norashen from 1930 to 1964, then Ilich or Ilichyovsk from 1964 to 1991 in honour of Vladimir Ilich Lenin. It was finally renamed to its original name Sharur upon the dissolution of the Soviet Union and the independence of Azerbaijan. The National Hero of Azerbaijan ( az, Azərbaycan milli qəhrəmanı) is the highest Hero (title), national title in the Republic of Azerbaijan. The title was named on 25 March 1992, and the "Qizil Ulduz" Medal awarded as a sign of receiving this title was established by a separate law in 15 July 1992. The law on the title has been in effect since 25 December 1995. It can only be awarded once to the same person. Maharram Miraziz oghlu Seyidov ( az, Məhərrəm Mirəziz oğlu Seyidov) (7 September 1952 – 19 January 1990) was the National Hero of Azerbaijan and warrior during the First Nagorno-Karabakh War. Life Seyidov was born on September 7, 1952, in the Alyshar village of the Sharur District of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan. He finished village secondary school named after Nariman Narimanov in 1969. He started working for Bodies of Internal Affairs in the Kherson city after he was demobilized from the Army. He was awarded a medal for his distinguished service in the protection of public order during Moscow Olympic Games in 1980. He later graduated from Special Police School (present Police Academy).
