Alyssa Bull
Alyssa Bull (born 1 December 1995) is an Australian canoeist. She qualified to represent Australia at the 2020 Summer Olympics. Bull was unable to make the final of the women's K-1 500m being knocked out in the semi-final. Bull paired with Alyce Wood in the Women's K-2 500m. They made it to the final and finished fifth. Early years At the age of 16 Bull started ski paddling for surf lifesaving. In 2012 she was the Under 17 Australian Ironwoman Champion. Inspired after watching her surf lifesaving idol Naomi Flood compete at London 2012, Bull took up kayaking. Bull was also surf lifesaving and competed in the 2012/13 and 2013/14 Ironwoman series. Achievements Bull achieved her childhood dream when she made her Olympic debut at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio . She competed in the women's K-2 500 metres event . Canoe Sprint
Canoe sprint is a water sport in which athletes race canoes or kayaks on calm water. Overview Race categories vary by the number of athletes in the boat, the length of the course, and whether the boat is a canoe or kayak. Canoe sprints are sometimes referred to as flat water racing. The distances recognized by the ICF for international canoe sprint races are 200m, 500m, and 1000m. These races take place on straight courses with each boat paddling in its own designated lane. Longer marathon races do exist, notably the 5000m (also an ICF-recognized distance) – these usually have athletes starting in a large pack at a start line before paddling around a set course with marked turning points (there are no assigned lanes). The women's canoe sprint K-2 500 metres at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro took place between 15 and 16 August at Lagoa Stadium. Jo Brigden-Jones (born 19 April 1988) is an Australian kayaker. She represented Australia at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London and the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo in sprint kayaking. Personal Nicknamed Goanna, Brigga, JBJ, Joey and Jo Toe, Brigden-Jones was born on 19 April 1988 in Mona Vale, New South Wales. She attended Newport Public School before going to Oxford Falls Grammar School and Freshwater Senior Campus for high school. From 2006 to 2010, she attended the University of Technology, Sydney where she earned a Bachelor of Nursing. She earned a Graduate Diploma of Clinical Practice (Paramedic) from Charles Sturt University. In 2010, she injured her shoulder which required ten months out of competitive sport. Naomi Flood (born 7 April 1986) is an Australian kayaker. She was the 2009 overall winner for the Ironwoman Series. She represented Australia at 2012 Summer Olympics in the K-2 500 m event, with teammate Lyndsie Fogarty. Personal Nicknamed Floody, Flood was born on 17 April 1986 in Sydney.
