Nurul Alyani Binti Jamil (born 1993), is a Malaysian international lawn bowler. Bowls career World Championships In 2020, she was selected for the 2020 World Outdoor Bowls Championship in Australia, which resulted in cancellation following the COVID-19 pandemic. She was selected by the Malaysian national team, to represent them at the sport's blue riband event, the 2023 World Bowls Championship. She participated in the women's pairs and the women's singles events. The Malaysian team ranked seventh in the world at the start of the tournament, were given the target of reaching the semi finals. World Singles Champion of Champions Jamil was runner-up to Jo Edwards in the 2018 World Singles Champion of Champions. Asia Pacific Bowls Championships
The Asia Pacific Bowls Championships formerly the Pacific Rim Championships was a bowls, lawn bowling competition held between national bowls organisations in the Asia Pacific region. The event was inaugurated in 1985, and it was initially held every two years but then took place every four years and was a qualifying event for the World Bowls Championship, World Outdoor Bowls Championships. In 2021, the 2020 World Outdoor Bowls Championship was officially cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. World Bowls then decided that the World Championships would take place every two years starting in 2023. Jo Edwards
Joanna Edwards (born 5 February 1970) is a New Zealand international lawn bowls competitor. She has won two world titles and three Commonwealth Games gold medals. Bowls career Outdoors At the 2002 Commonwealth Games she won a gold medal along with Sharon Sims in the women's pairs event. She has twice won the gold medal at the World Outdoor Bowls Championships in the pairs events: in 2004 with Sharon Sims; and in 2008 with Val Smith. In 2014 she won a second Commonwealth Games gold medal after winning the women's singles in Glasgow. In 2016, she won a bronze medal at the 2016 World Outdoor Bowls Championship in Christchurch in the singles and a silver medal with Angela Boyd in the pairs. She was selected as part of the New Zealand team for the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast in Queensland, where she claimed a gold medal in the Singles. The World Singles Champion of Champions is an event inaugurated in 2003 that is contested annually between bowlers who have won their respective national singles title. The event was first held in 2003 at the Moama Bowling Club in Moama, Australia. Traditionally the competition favours the Southern Hemisphere players due to the fact that the Northern Hemisphere players have to travel to the event and compete on faster greens. No male player has managed to win the title a second time and the only female to achieve two wins is Jo Edwards of New Zealand.
