Alwynne Pritchard

	Alwynne Pritchard Alwynne Pritchard (born 1968) is a British performer, composer, artist and curator based in Bergen, Norway. She has also developed choreography for performances of her own pieces. She is co-founder of the music-theatre company Neither Nor and former artistic director of the BIT20 ensemble. Pritchard was born in Glasgow. From 2008 and until March 2014, she was artistic director of the Borealis Festival in Bergen, and from 2001 until 2008, she taught composition at Trinity College of Music in London. Pritchard also worked for many years as a freelance writer and presenter for BBC Radio 3 including Music in Our Time, Midnight Oil, Music Matters, Hear and Now, and Discovering Music. 	BIT20 Ensemble The BIT20 Ensemble is a contemporary music ensemble from Bergen, Norway, founded in 1989. It was formed in the merger of the quartet, Bit4, and Ensemble 20. The ensemble has headquarters at Grieghallen. During its history, BIT20 Ensemble has performed more than 400 works and the ensemble serves as an important Nordic platform for new music, commissioning over 100 original works that have premiered internationally. The core of the BIT20 Ensemble is its 17 Principal Players. The ensemble's recordings comprise a catalogue of 20th-century classics, on numerous labels. 	Gwyn Pritchard Gwyn Pritchard (born 29 January 1948 in Richmond, Yorkshire, England) is a British composer, ensemble and festival director, and teacher. Life Pritchard was born in Yorkshire and brought up on a farm near Marlborough, Wiltshire. His parents were not musicians, but his family inherited a piano when he was 11 and he began to teach himself to play and to compose. At 13 he also took up the cello, developing quickly, and in 1966 he was accepted to the Royal Scottish Academy in Glasgow to study the instrument with Joan Dickson, and composition with Dr Frank Spedding. After graduating he worked briefly as Director of Music at Salisbury Cathedral School, then as a freelance cellist in London. In 1971 he was employed by the BBC, firstly as an orchestral cellist, and later as the subject of a documentary film.
