Alvin Feldman
Alvin "Al" Lindbergh Feldman (December 14, 1927 - August 9, 1981) was an airline executive and mechanical engineer. He was the president and chief executive of Frontier Airlines for nine years before taking over as president at Continental Airlines. He was a strong supporter of airline unions and airline deregulation. Under his leadership, Frontier airlines grew into a well-managed and profitable company. Biography Feldman was born in New York City in 1927. He was given his middle name, Lindbergh, after Charles Lindbergh’s famous Paris flight in the same year. He attended Cornell University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. In 1952, he married Rosemily Petrison. They later had three children, David, John, and Susan. In 1980, Rosemily passed away from cancer. It was a huge blow to Feldman, and cast him into a depression that would eventually take his life. Texas International
Texas International Airlines Inc. was a United States airline, known from 1940 until 1947 as Aviation Enterprises, until 1969 as Trans-Texas Airways (TTa), and as Texas International Airlines until 1982, when it merged with Continental Airlines. It was headquartered near William P. Hobby Airport in Houston, Texas. Trans-Texas Airways (TTa) was a "local-service" airline as designated by the federal Civil Aeronautics Board in Texas and surrounding states. In August 1953, it scheduled flights to 36 airports from El Paso to Memphis; in May 1968, TTa flew to 48 U.S. airports plus Monterrey, Tampico and Veracruz in Mexico. Frank Lorenzo
Francisco Anthony "Frank" Lorenzo (born May 19, 1940) is an American businessman. He is well known for his management of Continental Airlines and Texas International Airlines, between 1972 and 1990, through airline deregulation. Lorenzo also led the creation and management of the holding company for the group, Texas Air Corporation, through which New York Air was formed in 1980 and Eastern Air Lines was acquired in 1986, as well as Frontier Airlines and People Express Airlines. As an airline manager, Lorenzo earned a reputation for low fares and cost cutting, as well as union busting, as he and other airline managers pursued an affordable business model for the newly deregulated aviation era. Robert Forman Six (June 25, 1907 – October 6, 1986) was the CEO of Continental Airlines from 1936 to 1980.
