Alunni del Sole ("Pupils of the Sun") are an Italian pop group, mainly successful in the seventies. History The group, which takes its name from the eponymous novel by Giuseppe Marotta, was born in the late sixties when two brothers of Naples, Paolo Morelli (piano and vocals) and Bruno Morelli (guitars), sons of a composer and of a pianist, decided moving in Rome to pursue a musical career and to be closer to the record companies; there they formed the group with Giulio Leofrigio (drums) and Giampaolo Borra (bass guitar). Liberty Records was a record label founded in the United States by chairman Simon Waronker in 1955 with Al Bennett as president and Theodore Keep as chief engineer. Dischi Ricordi is an Italian record company founded on by and Guido Crepax, active from 1958 to 1994. History Dischi Ricordi had its seat in Milan (Via Giovanni Berchet, 2). ''Il Tirreno'' (English: "The Tyrrhenian") is a regional Italian newspaper, printed in Livorno and serving the Tuscany region. The Festivalbar was an Italian singing competition that took place in the most important Italian squares during summer, such as the Piazza del Duomo, Catania or Piazza Bra, Verona. The first edition took place in 1964 and was broadcast by RAI. The competition was held throughout the summer and the final round always took place at the Arena in Verona after 3-4 events in various cities of Italy. History Originally, the Festivalbar was a competition made with data from jukeboxes in Italian bars, so the competition was a one evening event transmitted by RAI.
