Alun Tan Lan
Alun Tan Lan (born Alun Evans) is a Welsh people, Welsh singer-songwriter from the village of Pandy Tudur (nr Abergele). He sings exclusively through the medium of the Welsh language. When Alun was 14 he formed the punk rock band Dail Te Pawb, He later went on to join Boff Frank Bough playing bass. He used the pseudonym Alun Evansh in those days (c1990) and also produced a cut 'n' paste punk style fanzine called 'Brwas' His first album ''Aderyn Papur'' was co-produced by Toni Schiavone and Mark Roberts (singer), Mark Roberts, formerly of Y Cyrff and Catatonia (band), Catatonia, and was released in 2004 after he returned from living and performing in Ireland. Alun opened for Gruff Rhys on his 2005 solo tour and is a long-standing member of Rhys's live band. The Welsh ( cy, Cymry) are an ethnic group native to Wales. "Welsh people" applies to those who were born in Wales ( cy, Cymru) and to those who have Welsh ancestry, perceiving themselves or being perceived as sharing a cultural heritage and shared ancestral origins. Y Niwl
Y Niwl are a surf instrumental band from North Wales, formed in 2009. Its members are Alun Evans (guitar), Llyr Pari (drums), Sion Glyn (bass) and Gruff ab Arwel (organ and guitar). The band's name is pronounced ''Uh Nule'' and means 'The Fog' in Welsh. Members of the band have also long played as backing musicians for Gruff Rhys. Career Evans has said about the band: "It's essentially not complicated music, it's just rock 'n' roll basically, simple and raw. I still don’t have much of a collection of surf music and I was never really into that particular style of music in the past. The only thing I really had was an old Shadows album on tape... Welsh ( or ) is a Celtic language of the Brittonic subgroup that is native to the Welsh people. Sain (Welsh for ''Audio'', ), in full – ''Sain (Recordiau) Cyf.'' (Audio (Records) Ltd) is a Welsh record label, which took part in the Welsh folk revival. History Sain was founded in Cardiff in 1969 by singers and songwriters Dafydd Iwan and Huw Jones, and businessman Brian Morgan Edwards, as a home for Welsh-language rock and folk music, which was otherwise finding it difficult to 'break through' in the UK market. BBC Radio Cymru is a Welsh language radio network owned and operated by BBC Cymru Wales, a division of the BBC. It broadcasts on two stations across Wales on FM, DAB, digital TV and online. The main network broadcasts for hours a day from 5:30am to midnight with overnight programming simulcast from the BBC World Service after closedown.
