Alumni Hall (DePaul University)
Alumni Hall was a 5,308-seat multi-purpose arena in Chicago on DePaul's Lincoln Park campus. History Alumni Hall was dedicated on December 16, 1956, and was owned and operated by DePaul University. It replaced the University Auditorium, the school's prior on-campus gym. A student-led fundraising campaign raised $25,000 over five weeks. This covered part of the building cost, which totaled $2 million. Construction began on Oct. 3 in 1955 and finished in December 1956. The 44-year-old building consisted of classrooms, offices, an arena, a gymnasium with 5,200 seats, a swimming pool, locker rooms, handball courts and a cafeteria. Alumni Hall's value was equivalent to $18 million today. It was home to the DePaul Blue Demons men's basketball team from 1956 until they moved to the Rosemont Horizon in 1980. Alumnae Hall (Western College For Women)
Alumnae Hall was the second building to be built on The Western Female Seminary's campus, and was completed in 1892. The building was constructed from funds donated by Olivia Meily Brice (Mrs. Calvin S. Brice), class of 1866, and other alumnae, trustees, and friends of the college. The architecture style of the building was Romanesque Revival. The building remained in use as a library until 1970 when Hoyt Hall opened. Between 1972-1974 it was used as a student center. It was torn down in 1977. History The building originally housed a library, classrooms, laboratories, and offices for the departments of English, classics, history, political and social sciences, philosophy, religion, and art. Carnesecca Arena (formerly Alumni Hall) is a 6,107-seat multi-purpose arena in the borough of Queens in New York City, New York. It was built in 1961 and renamed in honor of Hall of Fame Coach Lou Carnesecca on November 23, 2004. It is the exclusive home to the St. John's University Red Storm women's basketball team, and also, along with Madison Square Garden, hosts home Red Storm men's basketball games. The building hosted first-round games of the NCAA men's basketball tournament from 1970 to 1974. Up until March 2014, it was the most recent New York City venue to host the tournament. Alumni Hall is the on-campus basketball gymnasium at Providence College in Providence, Rhode Island, United States. It was built in 1955 and was the home court for the school's men's basketball program until 1972. The gymnasium has hosted the Providence College women's basketball team since its inception in 1974. Alumni Hall at the University of Pittsburgh is a Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation Historic Landmark that was formerly known as the Masonic Temple in Pittsburgh. Constructed in 1914-1915, it was designed by renowned architect Benno Janssen of Janssen & Abbot Architects. Alumni Hall (University Of Notre Dame)
Alumni Hall is one of the 32 Residence Halls on the campus of the University of Notre Dame and one of the 16 male dorms. It is located on South Quad adjacent to "Main Circle", across from the law school building, and it hosts 234 undergraduates. It was built in 1931 by the architectural firm Maginnis & Walsh in collegiate gothic style, and it is one of the oldest and largest of residences halls at the university.
