Altust is Turkish band Athena's eight studio album, released on November 11, 2014. All the songs in the album belong to Gökhan Özoğuz and Hakan Özoğuz. The album was recorded live at FadeOut Studios by producer Mike Nielsen. Athena (band)
Athena is a rock/ska band from Istanbul, Turkey, founded by twin brothers Hakan Özoğuz (guitar and backing vocals) and Gökhan Özoğuz (lead vocals and guitar) in 1987. It is regarded as one of the best Turkish rock groups by many listeners. They have released 8 albums and featured as the Turkish entry to the 2004 Eurovision Song Contest with the song "For Real", finishing fourth. Band history Foundation and rise in popularity (1997–2000) Athena (ah-T'hěn-ah) was formed by twin brothers Gökhan Özoğuz and Hakan Özoğuz as a thrash metal band in 1987. After an unsuccessful first album, they switched their style to ska punk sometime later. Athena released their second album ''Holigan'' in 1998. The distinct ska sound of the album was welcomed by the local record buying public so much so that the title song ''Holigan'' was adopted as a march by football supporters of all ages at the stadiums. Gökhan Özoğuz
Gökhan Özoğuz (born 11 October 1976) is the lead vocalist and guitarist of the Turkish ska-punk band Athena. He is the twin brother of fellow band member Hakan Özoğuz, and a founder member of the band. He performs a broad field of music from rhythm and blues to punk rock. He was born on 14 October 1976 at Fenerbahçe neighborhood of Kadıköy district in Istanbul, Turkey. He completed an open education program at Anadolu University. He is a son of a pharmacist and nowadays he is living in Caddebostan district in Istanbul. He represented Turkey at the Eurovision Song Contest 2004 in Istanbul as a part of Athena. The band became 4th with 195 points. Gökhan Özoğuz is one of the four jury members in the third season of the reality television singing competition ''O Ses Türkiye'' aired by TV8, the Turkish version of the television show ''The Voice''. Hakan Özoğuz (born 11 October 1976) is a Turkish musician. He is the guitarist of the Turkish ska- punk band Athena. He is the twin brother of fellow band member Gökhan Özoğuz, and a founding member of the band. Mazhar Alanson
Mahmut Mazhar Alanson (born February 13, 1950) is a Turkish musician, guitarist, member of the popular Turkish pop music band MFÖ, and an actor. Early life He was born on February 13, 1950, to a family of musicians in Ankara, Turkey, where his father was the head trumpeter in the State Philharmonic Orchestra. He continued Kadıköy Anadolu Lisesi which is also commonly known as Kadıköy Maarif College for his high school education in Istanbul following his father's death. After the high school, he attended the State Conservatory in Ankara and graduated in performing arts, in particular (theater). Career He started playing the guitar during his high school years.
