Altona Volkspark
Altona Volkspark is a large urban park in the Hamburg district of Bahrenfeld, in the borough of Altona. Ahead of Hamburg Stadtpark, it is the largest park in Hamburg. Altona Volkspark is located some 3 km off the inner city. The largest parks in the city-center are Planten un Blomen and Alsterpark. Notably, Hamburger SV home ground Volksparkstadion, Barclaycard Arena and Volksbank Arena are located within the park's fringes. Overview Altona Volkspark was developed in four phases. Designed and built by then Garden director Ferdinand Tutenberg (1874–1956), the first section was developed between 1914 and 1915. Subsequent parts of the park were opened in 1918, 1920 and 1928. Volksparkstadion
Volksparkstadion () is a football stadium in Hamburg, Germany, and is the home of Hamburger SV. History HSV actually have nothing to do with the origins of the stadium, even though they own the current arena. Before the club moved to the current site they played at Sportplatz at Rothenbaum. Bahrenfelder Stadion was the first stadium to be built on the site of the Volksparkstadion and the AOL Arena. It was inaugurated on 13 September 1925 with a match between FC Altona 93 and HSV. In front a crowd of 25,000, HSV lost 2–3. At the time the stadium was also known as Altonaer Stadion, however it was not the home ground of FC Altona 93 (it was Adolf-Jäger-Kampfbahn). Außenalster
Außenalster () or Outer Alster Lake is the larger one of two artificial lakes, which are formed by the Alster River and are both located within the city limits of Hamburg, Germany. The other „lake“ is the Binnenalster. The Außenalster and its shores are used by the inhabitants of Hamburg for many sport and recreational purposes, such as sailing and rowing.
