Althéa Laurin
Althéa Laurin (born 1 September 2001) is a French taekwondo athlete competing in the middleweight division. In 2021, she won the bronze medal in the women + 67 kg at the Tokyo Olympic Games and is also decorated Knight of the National Order of Merit. Career Laurin made her debut internationally in 2016. The following year, she won the European Taekwondo Junior Championships in Larnaca and then the gold medal at the 2018 Junior World Championship in Hammamet. She made her Olympic debut representing France at the 2020 Summer Olympics at 19 years old. She was selected for the 2020 Summer Olympics – Women's +67 kg where she defeated the Mexican fighter Briseida Acosta in the opening round and Olympic champion Zheng Shuyin in the second round. ''Taekwondo'', ''Tae Kwon Do'' or ''Taekwon-Do'' (; ko, 태권도/跆拳道 ) is a Korean form of martial arts involving punching and kicking techniques, with emphasis on head-height kicks, spinning jump kicks, and fast kicking techniques. The literal translation for tae kwon do is "kicking", "punching", and "the art or way of". They are a kind of martial arts in which one attacks or defends with hands and feet anytime or anywhere, with occasional use of weapons. The physical training undertaken in Taekwondo is purposeful and fosters strength of mind through mental armament. Taekwondo practitioners wear a uniform, known as a dobok. The Mediterranean Games is a multi-sport event organised by the International Committee of Mediterranean Games (CIJM). It is held every four years among athletes from countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea in Africa, Asia and Europe. Milica Mandić
Milica Mandić ( sr-cyr, Милица Мандић, born 6 December 1991) is a Serbian taekwondo athlete. She is a two-time Olympic champion in the +67 kg category, as well as World champion in the same category. Career Mandić won a bronze medal in the middleweight category (under 73 kg) at the 2011 World Taekwondo Championships and a silver medal at the 2012 European Taekwondo Championships. Zheng Shuyin
Zheng Shuyin (; born 1 May 1994) is a Chinese taekwondo athlete. She represented China at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, in the women's +67 kg, and won the gold medal, which China has not won since 2004 Summer Olympic Games in Athens. In May 2019 at the 2019 World Taekwondo Championships, Zheng lost the final against Bianca Walkden for the women's heavyweight title. Zheng was disqualified despite leading 20-10 because Walkden repeatedly forced Zheng out of the ring to accumulate Zheng's penalty points. In September 2019 at Chiba, four months after winning the controversial goal medal in Manchester, Walkden was defeated 7-5 by Zheng Shuyin.
